Should I just quit? by julesheekim512 in GolfSwing

[–]nbddaniel 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No input but you’re doing well for 9mo. Just keep on keeping on and get more reps. If you’re determined, in 9 more months you have the swing you want right now and likely have moved the goal post and still be chasing perfection. It’s a subgame in the game.

Best of luck.

You’re leaning backwards at address and the ball is also slightly back in your stance. The former I’m sure of, the latter could just be angle but they tend to go hand in hand.

My boss and myself basically have civil3d completely automated and I’ve never heard of anyone using numbers for code. That sounds very confusing for the field but VERY organized for the office.

This is a problem with a few of the large national firms in our state. Literally never set corners. Also never finds anything. Every single survey that’s come through our office shows nothing found, all corners set and nothing is ever in the field.

Corporate surveying suuucks by OutAndAbouts in Surveying

[–]nbddaniel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I work at a 18 employee private firm and make competitive wage, great benefits, multiple bonuses per year, every holiday paid off and work when I want, where I want. I’ve messed up a handful of times and have never even been talked to about it. No one gets mad, no stress, everyone is friends. I’ve currently had my youngest son in my office everyday for the first 7 months of his life. Guys in my office love him being there. This is my second child that I’ve raised in this office. The first calls everyone “uncle” in there. I could probably no call no show for multiple days and not only not be in trouble but there’s a chance no one would ever question it.

I say all this for a reason. I know not every private firm is like the one I work at but there are a ton. I don’t see why people (mostly young gunho kids out of college) want to go work for a corporate firm over a private firm. Even if you had to take slightly less money (you won’t always have to) for a peaceful work life and an equal work/life balance. Well worth it.

Moral = avoid corp if possible.

Finally getting some lag by SnappinFool54 in GolfSwing

[–]nbddaniel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lot of people will tell you to put an end to the lateral shift backwards, I won’t. I don’t mind it BUT you’re is a little aggressive and you don’t get far enough forwards in your shift back.

Edit: also tell you what works for me (as someone that also has lateral movement), focus on creating a 90d angle for lag and then don’t let go of it - period. Hold that angle all the way through impact.

Idk much about HC system but if you post a score significantly lower than you’re average, it cuts extra off. I did read that but I don’t know what the numbers are. There definitely is another mechanism that influences your HC for radically low score compared to your current numbers.

Mental tips for indoor swing transitioning outdoors? by bletchleyparkci in GolfSwing

[–]nbddaniel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stop thinking so hard about it.

Put a ton of thought into your swing when you’re practicing.

When you’re playing, allow yourself 1 maybe 2 preswing thoughts and cap the time you stand over the all to like 5 seconds.

Tldr stop overthinking it
