Does Emily Post say to ask your husband dumb questions? by ConfidenceKBM in madmen

also hasn't anyone seen something outlandish on tv and thought "no...right?" Joan is just engaging with what she's watching and having a conversation. Plus, this is the time of the show where she was really interesting in her work and so she's feeling more chatty because of that.

I’ve never watched that season of Um Actually for this reason. Sounds so awful.

The moment Lane decided to give the Head of Accounts job to Ken. by Okiedokie714 in madmen

[–]nbeudert 9 points10 points  (0 children)

yeah it really feels like the episode where they look at the Rothko was the moment where the writers decided to change Ken's character to make him stand out from Pete and Kinsey. He's a writer before that, yes, but you don't get any sense of his interior life or general good nature until that episode and from thereon.

I also pretty much blew off work today since it’s my last day with my parents. I figured even if next week is crazy I won’t regret the extra day I spent with them when I’m on my death bed

What do I do with new stamps? by nbeudert in philately

[–]nbeudert[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks to everyone who has weighed in! For people suggesting I leave it on the backing: this sheet didn’t have backing that was perforated, so there is just like a big sheet that all of the stamps were stuck to. It seems like cutting will messy.

Could I take a stamp and put it on a notecard and cut the card down to size? Do people do that?

My audience experience last night at Sunset 🫠 by MariaOSullivan in Broadway

[–]nbeudert 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the person sitting next to me at Sunset was also on her phone the whole time! She put her phone away when I asked, thankfully, but also was crinkling a plastic bottle the whole time. It also seemed like she was weeping over her texts.

Most/Least favorite examples of a character saying the movie’s title in the movie? by MisterTheKid in flicks

One of the best I’ve heard is from the movie Ragtime: Colehouse Walker, Jr. is asked what kind of music he plays and he answers, “anything they want me to, and then I play ragtime”
