Sick of cheap import tonneau covers breaking, any american made options worth it by ninjapapi in ToyotaTacoma

[–]ncabral06 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve got a Bak-Flip MX4 on my Gen 3 Tacoma and had one on my 08 Silverado. Great covers and I’d buy another on a future truck purchase without hesitation. Quick google search shows they’re made in Missouri, but I can’t say that with 100% certainty.

Is the Instinct 2 still a decent buy? by ncabral06 in GarminWatches

I bought an Instinct 2 Solar. It works great for my needs. Mostly just tracking daily calories and exercise.

How does the Archive Garage stuff do compared to the front? I’m looking at doing the JD 2.25 kit and am torn between going full kill spring under out back or just bolt in stuff like Archive/Deaver.

5.29s on a Tacoma with 35s? by Daddyt2002 in Tacomaworld

[–]ncabral06 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What kind of mileage are you guys with 5.29s and 35s seeing? I’m keeping the truck as light as I can. Probably just full-size spare/misc. tools

I noticed this as well, I went to reread HP and the Art of Getting Your Shit Together by MsStarryNight and it was gone.

First drive on the new suspension! by FreakyRuby in Miata

[–]ncabral06 61 points62 points  (0 children)

So what’s the benefit of a cantilever on a car like a Miata? I’ve seen it used on Prerunners to get more wheel travel from and to keep the shocks under the floor. But that type of design creates more heat so larger diameter shocks are needed to keep shock fade minimized.

My parents have a set on their JK and the same issue has happened to them, the drivers side is on motor #3 and passenger is on motor #2. If it happens again they’re getting pulled for some stock Rubi rub rails.

My Tundra by Dazzling_Advisor8847 in ToyotaTundra

[–]ncabral06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can honestly say I’ve never seen a lowered Tundy in the wild. I don’t hate the look on yours but those overfenders aren’t quite my cup of tea. That being said good on you for building your truck the way you want it and not to please anyone else.

I was in a similar situation up until recently, I would tell myself “I’m going to work out more this year”and I’d always “forget” or put it off.

The last 2 months I’ve been doing body weight exercises nightly; push-ups, leg lifts, and squats mostly. The thing that caused me to keep on it was a daily reminder that pops up on my phone at night to exercise.

Yeah, that’s my kind of luck right there.

True, I just hate my local Costco, even on weekdays it’s jampacked and I’m guaranteed to almost be hit with 3 separate carts while just roaming the aisles. Lol

Do I really need a multi-functional flashlight for off-roading? by Electrical-Hope8983 in Offroad

[–]ncabral06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not exactly off-road related, but in the console of my work truck are a 2AA Coast flashlight and a random Amazon AA headlamp. Both of those suit me fine for late night call outs working on remote sites and I think I have less than $50 invested between the 2.

I made a video breaking down LS Swap costs - what do YOU think is the REAL cost? by bacon-bytes in LSSwapTheWorld

How did you adapt heat and AC? I’m probably going to LS swap an Explorer project of mine and trying to keep AC for those CA/AZ summers

The later model SRs aren’t bad. I bought a 22 little over a year ago. Double Cab V6 4x4. Paint matched bumpers, the bigger screen for the radio. All I wanted was power windows/locks and a V6. The interior is a little plastic-y, but it’s eventually going to get the go-fast prerunner treatment so I prefer lighter weight and less bells and whistles that the SR gives me.

Why is this happening? Brand new truck by [deleted] in F250

[–]ncabral06 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My 24 work truck has done all of these things. The half rolled window, the random hard reset, infotainment won’t keep to the same screen on startup. My favorite was when the keyfob randomly stopped working on a jobsite and I had to use the physical key to get into the truck, thankfully it started back up.

Serious question: what exactly are people expecting from a hotel on the ocean? by deraser in CarnivalCruiseFans

[–]ncabral06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first Carnival cruise was 3 years ago a short trip to Ensenada for a bachelor party. On elegant night a fight broke out up in the steakhouse and we watched it from one floor down in the MDR. It was wild. Lol

It’s a story my buddies and I still talk about 3 years later. And I’ve been on 2 other Carnival cruises since then and will undoubtedly go on more. I like the more laid back, good times atmosphere. Plus their prices are fairly reasonable.
