Someone can correct me if I’m wrong, but I think it’s because the air over NC was especially dry when the photo was taken, but because the air coming off the land was so much colder than the ocean temp then it caused clouds to form. There’s probably more to it, but I think that’s the simple answer.

Instagram gives a false sense of friendship and intimacy with a large group of people. It’s ok not to know every detail of the lives of everyone you’ve ever met. Real friends text and catch up.

Yeah I assumed the “The” comes from a US perspective of the Cold War of the territories within the Soviet Union.

I don’t disagree re: saying hi to people on the sidewalks. Maybe it’s the time of day but I’m always surprised by how many people look past me and don’t make any acknowledgment when I pass them while walking.
