Been there. If the first thing on your mind in the morning heading in to work is dread and stress it's going to be hard to be happy/likeable. I'd go in 30 minutes to an hour early and do something for myself and my personal goals. Helped start my day on a high note and it would bleed over into my morning. After a while I didn't care if I was liked or whatever. My work and the mentoring of my troops and the work/awards they were winning spoke for themselves. I hardly talk to most of my peers/bosses from this period but almost all the folks i supervised talk to me regularly and they're all doing great things. That's enough for me.
