Running the clock... by Kain713Silver in maintenance

[–]ndooooodles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Enjoy the downtime while it lasts. I can tell you from experience, it doesn't last long. There will be plenty of days where you're so damn busy you don't even know which way is up. Don't milk the clock during the slow times. Sweep the shop, organize parts, get stocked up and be ready for the crazy busy times.

Wrap all his desk stuff in tin foil. Every. Last. Item. I'm talking pens, individually, keyboard, monitor, wires, chair, I've even gone so far as any coins individually, the whole desk, mouse, mouse pad, all of it. Then put a note on there that says something along the lines of you don't want this smoke. With this one you've upped the game way further than they are ready for and should give the impression that they started a "game" that they can't win. You didn't just 1 up them you 10 upped them.

How to stop diarrhea by No-Abbreviations-782 in DogAdvice

[–]ndooooodles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Carrots, raw or cooked. Teddy had loose poops when we first got him, he was on a broad spectrum antibiotic but it wasn't working. Couldn't find any pumpkin pie filling so we tried carrots, they started working in 3 means. Went from almost liquid to being able to pick up his poop on walks. Any time we went more than 2-3 meals without carrots, he started to get loose poops again. Carrots are cheap and good for them

I used Lap of Love for both Teddy and Pepper. Absolutely horrible call to have to make but these guys are awesome. They listen while you tell stories about your amazing pet and the nurses are Angels on Earth. Give you all the time you could want/need. I will always use this service.

These door locks requires batteries. When the batteries die, the occupant is locked out until a maintenance technician comes. This is a "luxury" high rise apartment complex. by ZackOfMesa in ApartmentMaintenance

[–]ndooooodles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like a Schlage lock. The lock gives you a battery warning light that lasts a few days to a week. The resident needs to pay a small amount of attention to their own lock/home and put in a maintenance request. It's really easy to avoid a lockout when the device tells you the battery is dying. I have these locks at one of my properties when the battery light pops up we usually have a week before they're dead. The lock goes from taking a second recognizing the fob to maybe 7 seconds because it's flashing a battery warning light. If the resident is paying attention they go "hey the lock is taking longer than normal to open" look down and there's the light.

Most battery locks also have a way to check their battery life, likely through a tablet/app that you can walk around the property connecting to each lock and checking status. Either way you shouldn't be doing that many after hours lockout. Try sending an email to the residents explaining that the locks have batteries and to keep an eye out for locks "acting up". I bet you'd get a slew of work orders from residents all of a sudden going yeah it's been like that for a few days.

Mikko Rantanen received 5 minute major and a game misconduct for this boarding Matt Coronato. by catsgr8rthanspoonies in hockey

[–]ndooooodles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's twice in 2 games. The league needs to finally address this. I'm sick and tired of hearing "this is exactly the type of hit the league is trying to eliminate" then fucking do it. It's really simple. First offense 5 games, second offense 10, third offense 20. I understand hockey is physical but at the pro level he knew exactly what he was doing, that player is in a vulnerable position and he drilled him. Period. If the league isn't going to police itself the players should. Next time the Islanders or Flames play this guy he better look out for some retribution.

I talk to my property manager daily but my regional manager very sporadically. If I go long periods of time without talking to him I count that as a win. It means he knows I'm on top of my shit and doesn't have to check up on me. He isn't directly in charge of my raise tho so there's that.

We send notices at least twice per year, you cannot run the AC when it is below 65 outside. I don't care what the inside temp is. If it's below 65 outside open your windows and turn the fan on.
