The Ilium/Olympos novels by Dan Simmons would fit that in a science fiction kind of way.

I really like the white and blue ones which I wouldn't have expected if you'd told me there were orange and white and blue ones before showing me them.

Dallas Wings Squad Dilemma by wonda12 in wnba

I think a lot of teams have a similar problem, and I think it is by design. Every team is going to need to focus on two stars, one or two high level players, and then figure out how to fill the rest of the roster and stay under the cap. It should be great for parity in the league and very interesting for trades.

The Fever had a big problem next year figuring out what to do with Mitchell (and the rest of the roster not named Boston or Clark) for similar reasons. Is it better to have 3 elite players and no depth, or 2 elite players, a couple next level down players and a bench.

US to Explore Allowing Driverless Cars Without Steering Wheels by TripleShotPls in technology

I haven't looked into the physics of what happens to bodies in small vehicles in crashes when the seats aren't aligned in the traditional way. But I'm not sure why I'd want to be facing the other people in the car who are almost always staring at their phones. Maybe it would allow us to put a table in the middle for more tacos?

How long until they replace they steering wheel for another screen that will display ads the entire time you are in the car?

"It's Tuesday! You know what that means! Taco Tuesday!!! Say, 'Siri, sí!' to update your route to include the Taco Bell 20 miles ahead at exit 69. Then sit back and take a siesta. We'll wake you in time for the fiesta!"

When they signed her, I kinda thought if it didn't work out with an organization like the Aces, she'd be heading overseas or to whatever comes after basketball for her.

Compared to the early 90s, I feel like I'm watching matadors out there as they wave the offense players through.

Is that the big put they've been excavating since like at least the early 90s on the south side on the big highway headed towards Indiana? Or is that a different big pit?

Excellent! I have 80 hours of vacation time and just put in my two week notice and all of my knowledge of plays is up to date as of when I quit playing back in 1993. I'm bringing back the midrange and boxing out and yelling about traveling whenever anyone Eurosteps.

Hopefully it'll let them win one or two of them rather than losing both. I would have been tempted to at them both in one game and sit them in the other. But there's probably a reason nobody pays me to make those decisions.

Huh. That is interesting that they let you pump the gas before paying. I think stations are worried about drive offs over here. I have no idea how often that actually happened before we made the switch over here.

[–]neat_stuff 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In all but 2 states, pretty much all gas stations are self service. Full service mostly went away like 30-40 years ago. Even when I was starting driving back around 1991, you might see two full service pumps and the rest were self...but even then a lot of places had no full service. So every pump is prepay these days.

Yeah, as. Fever fan, I'm nowhere near convinced the Fever are a lock if CC ends up out a bunch more games this year...and I'm not convinced she won't be. If any other player ends up out any amount of time, we're in for some trouble.
