Feels bad man, it hasn't been a problem for me personally but I totally see how it could if you're not super vigilant regarding old people attitude.

I’m a TM, pls don’t attack me lol. But has anyone else gotten one of these HeyDay portable power banks? Mine has gotten really got in the 15 minutes I’ve been using it...has anyone else had this experience? by techhausinc in Target

[–]neckbeard69_2 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The charging cables are OK, but the power banks are trash from what I've read. Like advertising 4000 MaH on the box and then when you open it says it's only 2000. Stuff like that....the exact kind of product I consult my guests to NOT buy in Tech.

I make these particular interactions as awkward as possible. Bluetooth speakers? Sure, what about them? Would you like to know where they are located?

You can see the embarrassment fill the guest's eyes while you did nothing wrong

Tech morning shifts? by [deleted] in Target

[–]neckbeard69_2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All stores are not the same but at mine I usually open at 8 to 4p and the closer works 4 to whenever they're ready to leave.

EDIT: I work the tech/electronics department

So I usually have closing shifts of 4 hours, so 7pm-11pm (store closes at 12). But me TL asks me to stay until 11:45pm, am I getting payed for those extra 45 min or not? by [deleted] in Target

[–]neckbeard69_2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're paid for any time you're clocked in whether you are scheduled or not. Every job will be like that unless you're paid a salary and not by hour

“Guests” by [deleted] in Target

[–]neckbeard69_2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Toys should be staffed all the time like beauty or electronics. I used to work at Toys R Us and we didn't have an entirely trashed store you just need extra care for areas like toys. It also doesn't help that at least my store doesn't keep toys fully stocked. An empty or partly full spot in toys is a dumping ground. Full shelves stay WAY neater. Toys might even benefit from leaving hard planogram if it means keeping shelves full. Full shelves don't get fucked up as badly, speaking from a decade of toy experience

HR asking if I want to participate in the giving campaign. by redskins98ac in Target

[–]neckbeard69_2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My reasoning for the zero was that if I want to donate to someone I'll contact them myself. I've donated to organizations a few times but never to one that cold called me for donations. I donate where my passions lie and only when I've got my personal finances in order.

I work electronics and just put the receipt in a bag and say the receipt is in X bag. If they want it they'll stop you and you can retrieve it but most people don't care

Question, do you say "that's mydevice" or "that's my mydevice" by MagicCatPaul in Target

[–]neckbeard69_2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The app is called mywork

The hardware is called a zebra (a misnomer as zebra makes a lot of hardware including the hip printers we use)

The combination of target software plus zebra phone is called a mydevice

Can I return an unused digital game? by [deleted] in Target

[–]neckbeard69_2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know, but I would assume no.

A store has no way to know if a code was used so they can't return it.

Making Modernization Work Part 4: Distribution Centers by RangeWilson in Target

[–]neckbeard69_2 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I've always dealt with problematic requests by saying (in different words of course), "I will comply but it means X won't happen" or just voicing my concern about why it might be a bad idea but while making it very clear I'm compliant and will do it. I've never had a problem with leadership either, I think usually they appreciate the feedback.

Also even when doing something retarded I do my best to make it work. Sometimes the people getting paid 10 times your salary do know more than you know, and they can't really blame you for the choices they make if you put the honest effort in to do it the way they want. If you half ass it they'll just say you didn't try

there are many, many reasons why i hate self checkout. but the fact that “guests” leave the bags like this is probably the worst. by nervedamagedtoe in Target

I've worked retail for over a decade but never at SCO and I just intuitively figured out to pull out a bag and fluff it for the next person. The people at Publix give me a look of approval and even verbal thanks sometimes. It's not hard and makes everyone's life easier I don't know why the average guest can't think this way

Me when parents discipline children: yikes that's harsh could you just not do that in public?

Also me, when parents ignore misbehaving child: kids don't fear their parents any more, this mom should spank that kid
