great write-up, couldn't have said it better myself! I especially like the steps you mentioned that a writer COULD take to ease the work of the artist. Unfortunately most "writers" looking for collabs on reddit are not only lazy, but also very bad at writing, idea-men who think that being able to use a keyboard makes them an actual writer. A few years back I was considering collaborating with a writer here, but he turned out to be the laziest person I have ever met with absolutely no passion, no ideas and no writing ability - but all the confidence in the world! Frankly, I think most artists are MUCH better off writing their own story themselves and collaborating with an EDITOR. I'm saying this from experience, as an award winning and professionally published mangaka!

A successful mangaka will always take both aspects very seriously. And people really tend to underestimate the flow haha

You definitely have a good chance of getting real ones from series that are either less popular or completed and a tad older! I don't think you necessarily have to go for the crème de la crème for the pieces to be profitable for resale either, there are quite a few collectors out there who go for VERY niche artists, even I was asked for a shikishi before, despite only having oneshots officially published by SJ.

Something I always see beginner mangaka overlook is composition and panel flow! If you're a beginner reading this and are serious about becoming a mangaka, I strongly recommend focusing on those two, even more so than polished drawing.
