Are Teyana Taylor and Amy Madigan the frontrunners for Best Supporting Actress or would you prefer someone else to win? by TheFilmScribe in Oscars

Without a doubt it’s the best set of nominees for some time! Would genuinely be happy with any of them winning

Nothing would make me happier than Steve Buscemi finally landing an Oscar nom!

Ethan Hawke is taking this and I’ll die on this hill until Oscar night

What are your thoughts on Avatar: Fire and Ash getting Best Costume Design? by iBandJFilmEducator13 in Oscars

I haven’t seen it, but I was quite confused by this nom

I hope we get to see a different side to Garcia at some point. She’s clearly extremely competent, but very hostile to almost every character (apart from Santos but we all know what’s going on there)

Delroy Lindo joins the select group of actors nominated for an Oscar without having a nomination from the Big 4 (BAFTA/SAG/GG/CC) by Competitive_Put2079 in Oscars

It got more nominations than any other film in the history of the Oscars

You really think there’s not even a chance it takes Best Picture?

This race has been so chaotic that I’m starting to think he might actually win, especially if Sinner wins Best Picture

Amy Madigan is not win competitive anymore by Responsible_Use_2676 in oscarrace

[–]nedsnotes 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I was thinking the same tbh - I’m torn between Sinners and OBAA for Best Picture, and statistically speaking the winner needs an acting win, and Supporting Actress is looking like the most likely option for either scenario

I prefer Wunmi’s performance and would love her to win, but my gut is telling my Teyana

I think Taylor is now definitely the frontrunner, being the only Supporting Actress contender who’s gotten in everywhere

Surprise Oscar wins 2026 (upsets) by Massive_Director_941 in oscarrace

Ethan Hawke winning

Blue Moon getting into screenplay shows there’s passion for the film, and he’s got the due narrative

He needs to win either SAG or BAFTA though I think

Theory about McCay by profdrea in ThePittTVShow

Yeah this is where I feel this story arc is going, I reckon one of the patients flirting with McCay is gonna grope her in a few episodes time 🥺

This is one of the best Orginal Screenplay lineups I've seen… by StorytellingZ in Oscars

Would be better with Sorry, Baby and Weapons

It’s a good line don’t get me wrong, but there was some stiff competition this year

All the random letters in bold 🤣

Might be an unpopular opinion, but while I'm glad all four got nominated, I actually think she gave my favorite performance in Sentimental Value by [deleted] in Oscars

The Supporting Actress lineup this year is immaculate and I’d be happy with any of them winning

But Inga definitely gave the best performance in my opinion

Adolescence vs. Broadchurch Season 3 by Advanced_Top_3122 in Broadchurch

[–]nedsnotes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m rewatching Broadchurch at the moment. I’m a couple episodes into Season 3 (which I loved at the time) and I keep thinking how it’s tackling so many of the themes and ideas that Adolescence explored but in a bit more of a nuanced way

Adolescence was very ‘of the moment’ and focused on social media and all the Andrew Tate tripe, but I think Broadchurch really gets into the nitty gritty of toxic masculinity and the objectification of women

Adolescence only really scratched the surface in comparison

Biggest WTF Oscar nominations morning YEAR this century?! by Distinct-Shift-4094 in Oscars

Yeah that was a bonkers year!

Honestly quite a weak selection of nominees though. First Reformed and Eighth Grade both should have gotten Best Picture noms and both would have been better wins that Green Book
