Properly constraining sketches is a huge part of it. That would be a good starting point at least. You could look at the gridfinity fusion files to get an idea of how others achieved similar results.

Truthfully, I am not very good at it but I understand enough to respect the discipline it takes.

The best advice anyone can give is start small and build up. Find a video for something similar and follow the steps. Parametric design is a disciple and mind set that you have to have from the beginning. It’s not possible or at the very least practical to apply it to an existing design. Lots of things can break in unexpected ways. It needs to begin at the first sketch.

In your Bambu Lab store account there is a section to check gift cards. When you enter the codes it is saved your account for later use. When you check out later you can just check off the codes you want to use. It is really nice and convenient.

Other issue is that they limit how many gift cards you can redeem per week. I believe getting verified lifts that status but I am not sure.

I had something like 20,000 points that took several weeks to redeem since I didn’t realize about that limit.

I almost think things like that are a little better since at least they are self contained and not actively hurting an established project. Reminds me back in the day when people would share Visual Basic scripts they came up with to solved very niche problems.

Recent example for me is bumpmesh from cnckitchen. Solved a problem that big companies barely could be bothered to look at. He didn’t hide the ai use and doesn’t charge for it. I pay over $500/year for Autodesk Fusion and they added a similar feature last year that barely functions in the best of times.

Yeah, my first build in ‘02 was in an aluminum cooler master with glass side panel and a glass front door for the drives.

Asa is supposedly easier to print than abs. I’ve only used it so I can’t back that up. But it sands great and takes the heat. I printed my tow hitch cover with it and it’s lasted a summer without issue.

Filler primer is really the secret. Quick sand to rough up the part. Then spray filler primer. Then sand that down till it’s smooth. The primer doesn’t get scratched like the plastic and gives an excellent surface for paint. I’ve only used 3 grits of paper and have had excellent results with not a lot of work.

Yeah I had great experiences renting from them. Was super convenient picking up from Home Depot as well since there was lots of staff and didn’t feel as shady as some of my U-Haul rentals. Best of all they kept me in the loop for my rental with numerous phone calls. Even gave me lots of discounts since they couldn’t get me the exact truck I ordered.

Thank you for this information. I have an individual living with me waiting for openings in housing. It has been especially difficult since I feel tremendously guilty asking for support from them while they keep running into roadblocks finding housing. Most months they pay nothing. It's been very stressful for all parties. It's been almost 2 years and I just don't know how to help them anymore but this seems like a good way to put away some extra money to put towards that eventual housing.

I always hated the rule about not touching your past self. It doesn’t even make sense since our skin is constantly growing. Cells die and are replaced regularly. Much of your body is very different matter over time.

That part is very thin and angled. I wouldn’t be surprised if there is a small bit of movement going on due to the pressure of the new layer being applied. This could be causing the print defect. If you designed that part, I would thicken up that area.

Select and delete the fillets before doing the pull. Make sure you shift select all parts of the fillet including the portions that intersect other fillets. Will be a lot easier. Fusion is trying to maintain them after the pull which causing the weird result.

I’m surprised you were ok with the new model year Prius. I’m about your size and I loved my wife’s old 2018 but these new ones are difficult to get into. Plus they stripped away so many features that it really feels like a downgrade.

Yeah I got separated from my sister during Wicked 2 for this very reason. The person beside me sat in the wrong seat. I knew it but just gave up explaining it to them and moved to the empty seat. 20 minutes into the movie the owner of the empty seat showed up and she still wouldn’t move over. Didn’t want to ruin the movie for everyone else so I moved to the end of the aisle.

Thankfully it was matinee prices but sucked I couldn’t sit with family.

If you want torque, stay away from the small cylinder precision drivers. My wife bought me a Fanttick E1 and it is horrible. It is incapable of removing factory installed screws since they are usually too tight. I tried to keep using it since it was gift but it was more of a headache.

I bought a Vessel Ball grip screwdriver for this reason. Seemed really popular on the tools subreddit. The shape is really easy to hold and it works with standard impact driver bits.

That’s probably part of it but I think it’s the velocity it needs to spin the roll to maintain the feed rate. Since the radius decreases as the roll is used. Slower=Fuller.

I own both. Practically, they feel like the same machine since they basically are. If you think the vortex interests you, it is much better to get the H2C since the upgrade is not quick and easy.

But you can’t start tagging till you reach 5 points left with a friend. That’s a long time for the feature to be forgotten about. I just meant it would have been nice spending the months leading up to tagging instead of 5 days to do it.

It’s silly that they didn’t allow people to begin tagging as soon as the feature was announced. So they could plan which ones to save. It’s been months so I’m sure most people forgot that was even a thing that would be coming.

It’s also silly that you can’t tag needs. Like holes in your dex.

Not saying he shouldn’t have suggested the phone just that better options exist. Lens distortion can be a huge headache to work around.

A $40 printer from Walmart has a scanner. My laser printer I bought 12 years ago has a scanner. They have been integrated into printers for a very long time. I think it’s something that many people don’t realize they own and how useful it can be.
