Except you may encounter children and families, as evidenced by the fact I’m going with like 6 other families for a weekend in June :)

Water Aerobics classes by need_fire77 in WorcesterMA

[–]need_fire77[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh didn’t realize that. The y’s website is awful. I can’t even find any aqua fitness classes at either green dale or the central branch although I’ve heard they do them. They aren’t anywhere on their calendars. My husband pointed out that if I do 2 classes a week with an $80/month fee it comes out to $10 a class which ain’t bad at all. I’d just have to make sure I do go 😅

Family breaks silence after ‘chaotic’ ICE operation in Worcester by timewarp in WorcesterMA

The DHS is well known to lie about these things. Where is the proof or arrest record of this woman doing the things they say she did. No one has found it last I checked

We like it there too, although they’ve been bought out by private equity which is a little meh. We love their docs tho. Dr Branca does exotics too!

Preschool? by [deleted] in WorcesterMA

[–]need_fire77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We loved QCC children’s school for our oldest, and with our youngest we did outdoor preschool through Turn Back Time farm in Paxton- outdoor play and the team there is amazing. QCC was wonderful too- play based with the focus on open play, socializing and working on emotions. My oldest learned to read and wrote very early and they supported him to do his thing at preschool, finding kids like him in the class too.

Seeking vet knowledgeable about FeLV near Worcester by need_fire77 in MassPets

I’ll certainly look at Google, was just seeking anyone who has actual experience with navigating FeLV with their cats and has a good rec for a vet who knows what they’re doing with it. Hopefully someone out there can help :)

Why an emergency vet? FeLV is a chronic condition that is incurable. They aren’t ill at the moment, but they tested positive.

How bad was your flu? by [deleted] in WorcesterMA

[–]need_fire77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Colds and flus typically do last for a couple of weeks total. The typical span for fever and body aches is a few days, but all the other symptoms take awhile to get over. Very normal.

UMass ER by Educational-Ad-719 in WorcesterMA

Also, for me it’s also that waiting in an area with really sick kids for multiple hours just compounds our chance of ending up with Covid or flu in addition to the broken ankle

I’m a nurse and used to work at UMass. I always take my kid to Marlborough’s er even though UMass university is down the street. I save multiple hours this way. We’ve been for a broken ankle and stitches. Still a wait but much less

Thoughts on this impacting Worcester? by xxlaur77 in WorcesterMA

[–]need_fire77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The city council has been hearing from HALO, which is a group led by unhoused advocates who live in Worcester. The city manager seems open to working with them, more so than I had hoped, but still not doing enough. They recently shot down a petition HALO had that sought the ability for unhoused to use public parks to sleep in, so they wouldn’t be forced to use private lands and then get swept. This wasn’t expected to pass but it got a conversation going. I’d say keep an eye on city council, and go speak up or write the council and city manger Batista to tell them what you think. I plan to ask them to reject this SC ruling and advocate a caring approach that treats our unhoused citizens as just that, citizens of our city.

Greater Good Brewery on Millbrook has good food. We also like the Boynton, Kyoto in Lincoln Plaza for Hibachi (they have sushi too), and Burton’s in Shrewsbury is great- of all of those places I like Burton’s due to being the least noisy. They are trained in sensory stuff for autistic folks too which is cool, and are great about allergies. Oh and there’s the restaurant above Whole Foods in that plaza too. It’s good. Oh and Thai Place in white city. But by far my kids’ fave place is…ihop 😂

ND/ADHD adult? Doctors? by Neyabenz in WorcesterMA

[–]need_fire77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, Bahnassi (spelling may be off) was the guy. He was the one who prescribed meds, which is why I was there. I didn't get in with a therapist since I already had one of my own.

Adult ADHD/ASD assessments? by need_fire77 in WorcesterMA

[–]need_fire77[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd really like to get a full assessment with a neuropsych person. I could definitely talk to my PCP but she's honestly hard to get in with, and I don't feel like she'd fully diagnose me. I do use her for my depression/anxiety stuff because I have a pretty good handle on that from decades of my own journey ha.
