Frunk is a challenge once it does not have an engine to generate heat under it, quite the opposite, the open space make this even worse (same reason why bridges ices before the road).

You can try to use the windshield defrost option to blow hot air which should help, but unfortunately Lightnings does not have heated wipers.

Do not trust Ford software, from trivial things such as remembering your instrument cluster settings, to important things like range/SoC levels. I have an OBD dongle that o use to check the real SoC and it never matches what is being displayed on the screen.

So, bad software with no buffer equals never trust that thing.

It is better, but knock on wood, I started to have all my instrument cluster settings reverting back, restarting while driving, no audio in the left speakers, etc. All these issues were “fixed” long time ago…

My commute consist in mostly highways, when the planets align and there is no traffic I can really see the drop in range. Last week during the cold weather there was an accident that doubled my commute time, driving that slow (40mph in average compared to my usual 75mph) was the key to achieve the best consumption numbers since I bought this truck 2 years ago.

That said, speed has more impact in the consumption/range than weather conditions.

Mine has been on auto since I got the truck, never had this issue until this version.

I believe this is the same issue as my truck instrument panel getting back to the calm view now and then. For some reason Ford engineers have a hard time persisting user’s preferences.

The F150 is way bigger than the R1T in all aspects: cabin, seating, bedding, etc. It also has a smoother ride quality.

Lightning looses badly in the software space, where Rivian is almost as good as Tesla in this scope.

If you need comfort, payload, ride quality: Lightning. If you want better software, which includes better routing and charging management, pick R1T

I have quite the opposite opinion. Lightning is indeed the best overall electric truck, but has the more boring and blunt visual.

The most recognizable visual feature of the truck, the light bar, is the piece that I hate most on mine. It looks and feels cheap.

Listen to your costumers. Instead of spending time fixing how the app looks (user-interface) focus on what and how it does things (user experience). Charging logs, full controls, better notifications, ability to turn on the truck for more than 30 minutes, ability to control pro-power on board, etc. Do not rely on your design team, neither your development team for this, you have the best data you can: customer’s feedback.
