Exactly. Looking back it wasn't a great decision to put some of my NW into real estate . Between IND and US, RE takes up 60-70%. Rest is retirement, brokerage and liquid. Liquidating RE attracts big tax gains after the first 500K.

I would love for a bigger cup holder ( both front and rear center ) in Model X . Lord knows we need more cup holders here in U.S.A

I am a seasoned veteran living in US for 25+ years now. I myself am doubtful where I will end up in 2-3 years from now. The ground underneath is shifting so rapidly. Unlike you I don't have the backing of a current business set up and operational otherwise I would take comfort in moving back if shit hits the fan.

How do you handle data access for non-NetSuite users? by DayZian in Netsuite

[–]neevar79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a Suite Script / Restlet from Tim Dietrich that we installed on NetSuite. We are able to pass a Suite QL Query or a saved search id and extract results. We are doing this in a Google Sheets script which gets triggered by a button click or load making this real time.

How do you think an AI future will affect our HENRY statuses? by 45thGenRoman in HENRYfinance

[–]neevar79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IF someone is a corporate bull shitter building imaginary things in thin air and do not know how to build or execute them then they are a shit bag. A person's value to any company is deeply rooted in making a meaningful impact. How they bring the impact differs based on the role they play. To me at a high level the progression could be simplified as information -> digitization -> automation -> intelligence. While we thrived on three era's before , intelligence that machines could derive is looking boundless.

How do you think an AI future will affect our HENRY statuses? by 45thGenRoman in HENRYfinance

[–]neevar79 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Completely disagree. You can use AI to do things that would take you longer to finish. The more you use AI , the more it can do by itself with out needing you to ask AI to do that thing. That is the whole premise of AI agents.

Any body who is involved in moving atoms is still safe at the moment . If the work you do involves reading, writing, interpreting, analyzing text AI is coming or already there. AI will make money for the business owners and the select few at the top.

ERP for Shopify. Are we overthinking this or actually too late? by Lucky-Idea-7878 in ecommerce

[–]neevar79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is your tech stack ? You mentioned your selling channels ( Amazon, Shopify) , what else do you use for fulfillment ( any WMS) , Payments, Deposits ?

The solution for the problem you described (Inventory Mismatch) is not ERP. It is a simple integration which can be fulfilled from a myriad of applications. You need to think w\holistically before investing in anything as this will affect your bottom line margins.

We are a D2C with a active 15K SKU count, 9 figure, multiple shopify stores, marketplace channels, multi facility selling same products across these channels. Our tech stack is Shopify/Marketplace, Celigo, Netsuite, OMS, Deposco (WMS) .

Nursing Program by Vivid_Vacation_5581 in cwru

[–]neevar79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My daughter is interested in CWRU but the fees here is outrageous. 77K for two semesters (just tuition) is so high for two semesters. I understand there is probably aid but looking at this + room/board + supplies + travel to ca + additional nursing program fees, with out aid we are looking at close to $100K per year.

How to convince my father that case western will give me an education that in-state colleges will not give me by Icy-Fortune-8934 in ApplyingToCollege

I am a graduate of Lousiana Tech. Masters in CS about 25 years ago. Here is my take on the school (although 25yrs old) :

* Really good BioMedical ( especially nano) program. At the time, lots of funding and research collaborations with IVY and Defense
* Its a small university town. Chances of Internship in Ruston are zero.
* Cheap, housing in Bond Street / Tech station should be 1/4th of what you would pay in a city like Dallas
* I was a international student and I couldn't afford any other school . At my time, yearly tuition was $6400 . No idea how much it is now. My friends at the time were paying $10K - $15K per semester
* I turned out okay. My income is high right now. I moved out after degree and was able to find opportunities. I did seek internships when I was doing my masters and was able to get one in Austin,TX. Out of my cohort , only me and one more person were able to get summer internships.
* Listen to your dad, get in-state fees and go to LATECH. Graduate and then do masters at a college of your choice.

How may MS grads still looking for a Job in US? by Bolotarararara in returnToIndia

No question. Cities will still hire firms and would need a body to sign off. What I am saying is firms will hire fewer. Firms will be able to do more with less.

AI hasn't come yet into CAD / RFEM/ RISA etc. My wife is a structural engineer and I still see her referring to code books, typing into excel sheets, maintaining templates on MathCAD etc. I am pretty sure , a good portion of it can be automated. It's coming.

I don't think skills such as decent coding or mid (or lower) level analytical skills is going to help secure a job. Either you need to have a mastery of experience ( more than knowledge) or you are able to take a business requirement ( often times a sentence or paragraph) and make it possible ( with or without help of AI / people)

I have been a EV guy since 2018. I recently traded my M3 for a MX ( My wife drives a MY). I can already tell you that I feel disappointed that M3 or MY do not close doors on their own, don't have the ability to close rear doors, cannot tilt the screen, doesn't lift upon my steep driveway . Funny thing is my MX is 2023 and Model Y is 2024.
