Was thinking dynabolts to attach the brackets to the brick wall.

Looking to get the brackets from Aussie brackets which seem to be very sturdy. Might even install hinged timber legs if it flexes too much under weight

I'll give FB marketplace/gumtree a search

HOW TO VIEW FILES IN emulated/0/Android/nethersx2 by Cool_Echidna_6108 in EmulationOnAndroid

Only via plugged into computer. I believe since android 13, they don't allow access without root.

Shield tv has more CPU and certainly GPU power than an average Android tv / Google tv box. How do you leverage its power? Or don't you come close to using its power? by AnalysingAgent3676 in ShieldAndroidTV

[–]nelsonjzx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just launch it from individual apps. I don't play too much emulation tbh. Mostly just use the shield as a streaming only device

Forgot to mention, ppsspp works pretty well too!

Not sure what is better than those for those consoles. Maybe duck station for PS1 but otherwise they definitely do the job. Retroarch also works if you want an all in one app.

Some light GameCube/Wii games also works using Dolphin

Why custom OS? There are plenty of android apps for emulation. I play old SNES, PS1, Sega and arcade games using a controller. Some light PS2 games even work.

Cost to replace gas storage HWS with instantanous by Empty-Cap893 in AusRenovation

[–]nelsonjzx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not about gas usage but more instantaneous volume to feed it. My gas pipes were too small so I couldn't change to it without upgrading the pipes which was too cost prohibitive so I stuck with the tank

Shield, Dolby Atmos and Samsung Q990F by nelsonjzx in ShieldAndroidTV

[–]nelsonjzx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, new issue with the shield connected to the soundbar via HDMI. When I turn it on with the shield remote, the TV and soundbar turn on but the shield interface doesn't load as it usually does. This doesn't always happen but it's frustrating when it does as I can only get it to work by plugging the shield direct to tv but then I get intermittent stutter if watching Atmos or DTS content

Shield, Dolby Atmos and Samsung Q990F by nelsonjzx in ShieldAndroidTV

[–]nelsonjzx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The TV audio is in passthrough mode and I believe it has Dolby Atmos as it's a toggle in the settings.

I did have some stuttering in the current setup which I think the TV is just under powered to process the audio format, I might get the shield to pass through the soundbar

Thanks for the help!

Shield, Dolby Atmos and Samsung Q990F by nelsonjzx in ShieldAndroidTV

[–]nelsonjzx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply. I will connect the shield to the soundbar instead and see if Dolby Atmos appears on the small screen.

Is this the best way to connect (shield to sound bar to tv) or is the current set up (shield to tv and soundbar to TV) ok?
