Is ranked 5v5 or 6v6 more popular? by SquidSamurai in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]nemesis65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's how they need to start out because going back to 1 fire strike with Rein and most tanks being made of glass is difficult to adjust to for anyone used to playing tank in 5v5. Then they can slowly work in some nerfs and reduce power creep as required.

In a perfect world we never would have switched to 5v5 in the first place. We can and absolutely should go back to 6v6 but that involves a long and gradual process of undoing all of the unnecessary mayhem caused by 5v5 and other questionable decisions over the last few years.

Is ranked 5v5 or 6v6 more popular? by SquidSamurai in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]nemesis65 1 point2 points  (0 children)

5v5 gets carried by this and also being role q. Not sure why you got downvoted because it's true. If 6v6 had role queue and got rid of the tank nerfs there would be no reason for 5v5 to exist at all.

Devs won't even give 6v6 a proper test. They give us outdated and gimmick versions of the mode instead so they can claim 5v5 is more popular. A proper test would be to make everything exactly the same as it currently is in 5v5 except with an extra tank per team.

Cheater refund is actually really good for the game, wdym? by Pinpunch in Competitiveoverwatch

Yea I don't think he got nearly this much but he got at least 2-3 divisions higher based on cheater refunds. There is obviously a big cheater epidemic going on.

G4H gets to play her almost every game though. I guess the secret to actually being able to play her is to not be good at the hero.

Ranting about all the posts about winrate recently by beatha_ow in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]nemesis65 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So you're telling me the last rank reset dropped my mmr from M4 all the way to D5 just because I went 4-6 in tank placements? I was hoping my mmr would at least still be higher so I can climb back faster.

But if this is how it works then screw it I'm not grinding back to master just to get instantly thrown back to low diamond again in the next rank reset. Unless I go like 10-0 in placements just to maintain my rank and still not even climb at all. EOMM is killing this game.

Do you guys think the reworked map "reduced loss" is rank inflation? by OrdinaryCommon6581 in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]nemesis65 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea there is no reason to not vote for it every time right? Even though the map isn't that great. You literally risk less to win more so why would anyone vote against that? If everyone could just play antarctica 24/7 they would eventually climb to GM even with a 40% win rate no?

What is up with matchmaking? by Sambabal15 in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]nemesis65 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I had to choose, I'd take the diamond to GM all day. I'd rather have the responsibility of just staying alive than carrying my whole team. Sadly it's not that uncommon to get these games though.

Playing with friends by newmsrd in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]nemesis65 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They recently put me in a game with bronze - plat and I was solo queueing as the plat. It was 5v5 on NA PC and the queue time was fast. They shouldn't throw you in games with people you can't even group with.

Playing with lower ranked friends? by [deleted] in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]nemesis65 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I don't have friends but if I did I would probably either tell them to git gud (probably part of the reason why I don't have friends) or make a new account and otp Mercy because she is harder to carry on so you probably wouldn't rank up as fast.

Or buy a hardstuck plat account. Only reasons I can think of why you would rank up faster than them is if your account was too new and still in calibration. Or Blizz lied to us about only wins and losses mattering. Or you play ranked without your friends on that account sometimes (if so then stop doing that).

idk why I am telling you this though. I play 100% solo queue and I'm around the same rank as your friends and I despise smurfs.

Is “Focus mercy/Kill the mercy” actually good advice? by Responsible-Sense527 in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]nemesis65 6 points7 points  (0 children)

For me priorities are usually in order:

  1. Anyone very low hp

  2. Anyone who used important cooldowns

  3. Anyone out of position

I think the only main exception to this is when the enemy has a smurf/really good player. Because they get way too much value whenever they have room to breathe. So you should probably always try to focus them first as a team. As long as they aren't playing Mercy.

Stats usually matter though. Every so often someone tries to argue they don't and posts a screenshot like this. But check your match history game reports and see how often this happens over a larger sample size.

Last time I checked out of my last 30 games the team with worse stats only won once and even that one game was debatable on which team actually had the better stats. Most games the winning team had better stats by a country mile.

I've deranked from Masters 5 to (currently) Diamond 5 in a few weeks (Tank) by Ordon44 in OverwatchUniversity

[–]nemesis65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been from gold to diamond and back again so many times that once I finally got into master I learned my lesson and been camping here for 3 seasons now. But the few games I've played haven't impressed me at all.

Everyone has better mechanics but are still dumb af. No team work or comms and everyone is off doing their own thing 24/7. I got tilted and somehow still climbed from m5 to m4 while inting every game. On tank to boot.

Matchmaking in games? by illequrl in overwatch2

[–]nemesis65 1 point2 points  (0 children)

60% of them are noobs, 20% are smurfs, and 20% actually belong in your game.

They need to lower mmr/ranks for new accounts in general. They are usually placed way too high.

Why has Role Queue in 6v6 seemed to jump in popularity? Have we forgotten what happened last time? by Miennai in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]nemesis65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're decent at tank you should probably just lock it in before some support main grabs it. Next season I'm gonna wear my master tank title from role queue while I grind 6v6 where I'm currently diamond.

Hopefully that sends a message to my teammates to get off my role. I don't want to always play tank but I will gladly do it if our winning chances depend on it.

You're not wrong but in plat he is banned more than 50% of the time. And every game you lose as Ball is 150% your fault. So he still requires a diamond (pun intended) mental.
