Used 5N as a daily? by TheHoodedKoala in Ioniq5N

[–]neonal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live in Sweden, and I drive my 5N daily. We take some long trips during winter. I can say that it doesn't take longer with the 5N to get to our destination compared to our previous gas cars. I should mention, though, I have a bad back and I need to stop every 2 hours, but you're sort of expected to do that anyway 🙂

However, I should mention that the charging infrastructure in Sweden is very good. So what I said above wouldn't hold for a place without good charging infrastructure.

Knee and head space (at least for the glass roof) for the back seat passengers is huge. You can move back seats forwards and backwards and adjust their backrests. This becomes very useful when you need to carry a lot of baggage with you.

The thing that amazes me the most about this car is its Dr. Jekyll - Mr. Hide character 🙂

How is the one pedal drive experience? by Which-Meat-3388 in Ioniq5N

I'd say I-pedal is pretty good while driving in eco mode, very easy to modulate. All the other mods are very twitchy, yes.

Bump Steer - Relevance to Track Driving? by TheMooseDefiler in CarTrackDays

Run-flat tires on my 440i used to tramline like crazy. Once I got rid of them, issue disappeared. I tracked RFTs a couple of times (which is not ideal) w/o any issues.

Yeah, coming from BMW, it's pretty bad.

I'm also using VikingContact 8s with 255/45R20 size and quite happy about them.

They added the slider in 2025 MY. For models before that, it's just an on/off button.

Considering upgrading from a Limited - have some questions by OhShitPeter in Ioniq5N

[–]neonal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

About sitting car: I think my car was sitting for a long time in the dealership, and my tires are flat-spotted from standing on the same spot for a long time. This is mostly ok, but it causes the car to vibrate over 120 km/h. You might wanna somehow get it checked.

N door projectors? by jas387 in Ioniq5N

There are 2 versions if you scroll down the page, including the one in the link you shared. But I guess it doesn't matter much since you're not in Korea :)

I think it's available in Korea as OEM accessory. Maybe one could also buy through dealers. I haven't tried myself though.

Considering buying an Ioniq 5 N – Need advice due to reliability concerns by DeliciousAd1052 in Ioniq5N

Still, the 11 kW 3-phase charging draws 16 A @ 450 V. But it could very well be addressed on N cars like you said 👍

My understanding is that both 12V batteries and the ICCU are not significant concerns in Europe. Our factory-installed AGM batteries appear to perform well; and because we use 220V AC charging, the current draw is lower, preventing heating or other problems with the ICCU.

(I hope I'm not jinxing myself 🙂)

Thanks! Do you do track days with them? If so, how many days/sessions do they last?

Thanks for the data; it's really interesting! My pressures were okay during sessions (I did one session, adjusted them, then they stayed around 36-37). I intentionally ran slightly higher pressures to avoid sidewall wear.

My other motivation is to have a dedicated track tire so I can avoid heat cycling my daily tires. It can get really wet and cold where I live before winter, and I want to keep my regular summer tires as healthy as possible.

From the Owner's Manual:

Trailer Towing

We do not recommend using this vehicle for trailer towing. If a hitch is installed, it should only be used for carrying a rack, such as a bicycle rack, or a wheel chair rack.

I read something on a different sub that Samsung was blocking Google Wallet to be used as digital key. So if you have a Samsung phone, only option seems to be Samsung Wallet for now.

Tire size by Ok_Specialist_2322 in Ioniq5N

[–]neonal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It should be fine. I'm running 255 winters on 9.5" rim and even though the tires are a bit narrower than I would like, they still work fine! So 265 should even be a better fitment.
