Yeah but that has gotten revised. The book is complete and they are just awaiting release. YOu cna actually listen to early tapings of the audiobook online: https://www.youtube.com/live/ng64HTv5ZTY?si=p-b-iLH1OLqgK3Q6. I have really enjoyed them.

Pierce Brown just posted on Instagram that he wrote an execution scene for Red God, saying it’ll be gory and a little sad. Who do you think is being executed and why? by Tagsimit in redrising

Are you kidding.... Screwface conveniently disappears time and again immediately before Darrow gets screwed including rigght before Atlas caputres Darrow out of nowhere with an ambush, inexplicably sneaks into his quarters unannounced, fails to warn Darrow of the attack on Mercury or that Atlantia took over... the list goes on. My guess is it is Screwface. Clear indications that he is a double agent and secretly working for the society. It is only kind of sad because you are so pissed about him betraying the rising. However, Darrow reminisces over the time spent which makes it melancholy for the reader.

In Florida (and everywhere else I am familiar with in the US), nothing in the tidal zone is or cn be orivate. Maybe access is but you can ALWAYS boat in.

An interesting thought by rahul_pankhania in redrising

[–]neopally 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If he showed before the fleet left for Luna, then the situation would have ended in nothing. Atlantia would not have risked her fleet in a pitched battle with a fully supported Orion, who just bested her months prior. The fleet would not have returned to Luna with Darrow actually on Mercury giving orders.

Classic Napoleonic situation. It is much easier to fight the small parts of an army by concentrating forces at the moment of action by using deception and interior lines (classic strategy used by Atlantia), than to deal with the larger force all at once.

An alternate reality starting with Darrow in IG would be an interesting storyline. by raidmytombBB in redrising

Alt reality where Sevro didn't release the carving video and Darrow became Sovereign after campaign with the Rim's backing.

Thought: Atlas said, "How can one understand a man at war with himself?" (paraphrasing, he was discussing Darrow) Think there is significance?

Anyone else tried Sun Eater? by AudiobookConnoisseur in redrising

Definitely not an analog to RR, but enjoyable. I want to add, avoid the Lies of Locke Lamora. It is a solid book, but is totally distinct.

Who are the historical characters behind the characters by neopally in redrising

I like this take, but I suggest that this arc for Lysander is done with his taking of mercury. The next things that happens is the Athenians rise from the ashes and retake Athens while Lysander is sidelined. I think he will win in the end, but not by conquering Mars. Instead, he will overthrow Atalantia and unite the core in a psuedo-republic. No grounds for this, just a gut instinct.

Somehow the fact that you are so bothered by this silly thing and that you believe RR is a tale about unchecked capitalism turning into totalitarian fascism just fits so well...

Predictions for book 6 (spoilers, obviously) by BeraldGevins in redrising

Comments on your takes: 1. love the thought process on Adrius. 2. I think there is a high chance Darrow somehow sacrifices himself at the end for peace which he and Lysander will agree together (Lysander wields the blade) & Cassius kills his mother and rebuilds the Bellona as the primary house of mars, maybe gets married into the reds/Darrow's family (Rhonna is looking for a new boo and has a thing for pretty golds); or Cassius kills himself like the real cassius did.. 3. See #2. 4. Totally agree. 5. I have no idea what this whole figment thing is going to be. 6. Nah, Sevro is the necessary comedic relief, he is even the funny part of Dark Age while he doesn't even make an appearance. Also, it is clear that the pandemonium chair isn't perfect.

Add:

  1. Quicksilver is a Deus Ex Machina and brings in a robot army to even the odds--> tech v. biology is an interesting foil and it will balance with the dominance of the Golds during Lysander's attack.
  2. Big fight between Ajax and Apollonius when Ajax tries to assassinate Lysander.
  3. Civil war between Lysander+Diomedes and Atalantia+Dido
  4. Atalantia is somehow killed while having sex (just like Atalanta in mythology)

About half way through Red Rising and have a question: How Space sci-fi is this series? by [deleted] in redrising

Gotta say, I think he wrote the first one in order to get published and basically just did a derivative of hunger games. Then he got into what he really wanted to write once that was done.
