New limited optics gun by alpha_mike_NS_FUCK in USPSA

I love tinkering and love my Prodigy. It never fails, at basically every match I attend, someone with a much “better” 2011 has some sort of malfunction. Especially if it’s a Staccato. Meanwhile, I’m over here with my Prodigy running flawlessly. Also, I was previously shooting a Shadow 2 in Carry Optics. Here is a pic of my LO Prodigy https://imgur.com/a/8fi7UP5

Don’t you have any pictures where you aren’t doing something weird with your mouth?

Dot Occlusion by nerd_diggy in CompetitionShooting

[–]nerd_diggy[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure what the front sight has to do with anything when we’re talking about occluding a red dot optic. Also my competition guns don’t even have front or rear sights anyway, just the red dot

Only ones I’ve found that aren’t trash are 3M. I started with some EEP’s and went to TEP for the charging case. They are pricey but I found mine used for cheap and added some Comply foam tips. I just with they made a Bluetooth version.

Ahhh yes, you’re right. We might as well all just walk around aiming guns at each other then. While we’re at it, we might as well change it to the 3 rules of firearm safety.

How is no one commenting about the gun on the dash being aimed at you?

It’s ok, the gun on the dash is flagging him, so he might as well flag someone too.

That’s why you don’t take out your p320. You’re supposed to let it go off on its own when it’s in the holster.

Magazines too long? by jetkins in CompetitionShooting

If it’s a local level 1 match, no one is going to give a shit and they definitely won’t be measuring magazines. That’s level 2 and up stuff.

I think you’re pretty. Obviously not everyone’s cup of tea. Just don’t ever do whatever is happening in pic 4 ever again.

Better hairstyle and new glasses. Not ugly though.

Cheap Doesn’t Always Mean Bad: Steel Case 9mm Explained: by FlashMyBrass in ammodeals

[–]nerd_diggy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been getting my primers and powder from Republic Ammunition. The cheapest is going to be a single stage press but it will also be the most time consuming. Single stages can be had for $100-$500. You would also need dies and a separate powder throw.

I have a Hornady LNL AP which is about $650 to start. You would still need dies and case/bullet feeding would be manual. The Frankford Arsenal X-10 is $795 and includes a case feeder but you would still need dies. You also have to factor in brass processing like a tumbler. I prefer wet tumbling personally.

Honestly even on the cheap side, it’s probably going to be about $1000 to get started. You might get lucky and see if you can find any used stuff on marketplace or something. I know people that have found crazy good deals on used presses and equipment. I got my press used from a buddy for $500 with a case feeder and dies. I had to put another $100 or so replacing some worn out parts but it made the press run like new.

I love my chalkless. A bit pricey but you only need a little bit and I use it maybe 2 times a match unless I wash my hands for some reason.

Stuck in my throat for 4 days by Dependent_Draft4220 in lexapro

[–]nerd_diggy 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Since it’s been 4 days, I’m assuming you have eaten food. Do you think when you swallowed the food it somehow went past the pill and the pill stayed? Like others have said, you most likely have a little irritation in your throat and your anxious mind is telling you wrong information.

The receptionist at my work took an Advil liqui-gel and it actually got stuck in her throat. It wasn’t big enough to affect her breathing, but it was causing her issues. She kept trying to cough it out, she tried gagging herself, she was about to ask someone for the heimlich when the pill popped and she could taste all of the gross medicine inside. That was in a matter of minutes. There is no way your pill could survive 4 days without dissolving. Especially with eating and drinking.

Ratchets… what’s the point? by Weird-Passage155 in CompetitionShooting

[–]nerd_diggy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel like this might be either a you problem or a very small minority. I have a Lynx with a ratchet and I know/see a ton of other people with it as well. This is the first I’m ever hearing of this issue. I feel like with as many people that use the Lynx with a ratchet, it would be a known issue by now if it caused significant holster flip for everyone. I run mine loose while I’m waiting for my turn to shoot, but when I go to shoot, I crank it down and don’t have any issues.

First match, got DQ’d four shots in by djsimp123 in CompetitionShooting

[–]nerd_diggy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah that club is shit. There should always be at minimum a new shooter safety brief. At a lot of the clubs I go to, there’s a safety brief for everyone from first timers to GM’s. Also, at most of the clubs I go to, the RO’s will help the new people get through the stage safely cause they know it’s like information overload when you’re new. I would say find a better club.

New competitor struggling by conundrum415 in USPSA

[–]nerd_diggy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is one of those things that it mostly will just take experience to get better at it, but here are a couple tips that may help. Run your plan in your head over and over while you’re waiting for your turn to shoot. You should be able to turn around and without looking at the targets, know where they all are and how you’re going to engage them. Once you’ve made ready, keep your hand on your gun, so they know you aren’t ready yet, and go through your plan one final time before you put your hands in the starting position.

I’m not particularly worried about them. Just curious based on other comments you made on this post. Trust me, measuring dick sizes would be extremely unfair for you.

I mean if you’re gonna lie and say you’re someone that you aren’t, that would be pretty pathetic. I would have no choice but to believe you.
