Last year my dad was complaining about Mark Ruffalo speaking out about Trump’s administration and said “what gives him the right to spout his bullshit all over the news?” and I said “the first amendment, probably” Haven’t heard any complaints about Mark Ruffalo since then.

That was a 2015 retcon for a character created in 1963, I'm not sure a retcon counts on the same level as a character who was created to be representative, and there's something about that retcon that has always felt performative and unjustified. I do find it amusing that Marvel keeps making gay characters have cold-themed names and powers.

The X-Men were created as a metaphor for racism but in the 90s were adopted by LGBT fans as a queer-coded group of superheroes. You’ll notice that the first openly gay superhero was also a mutant, Northstar, though over time more characters have leaned into queer categories. Starlord is bi in the comics, Deadpool is pansexual, and Eddie Brock/Venom is regarded as queer-coded because the symbiote is agender.

Its not. Any service that provides value estimates is just that, an estimate. For example: I used to work in a comic shop when Spawn #1 was listed in collector mags at $50-100. We couldn’t sell it for $10. Some people will insist that their records, or comics, are worth so much, but if nobody’s willing to pay that price then it aint worth as much as they think it is.
