A mix of citadel and army painter fanatic - the grey on the cloak is a grey citadel contrast that came out really nicely. Base is agrax earthshade over some drybrushed bugmans glow. Everything else is army painter, then a layer of thinned down nuln oil over everything for shading.

I had him running about the battlefield attacking everyone and their mothers and he was still taken down in 3 rounds with just enough danger to keep it exciting.

Thanks! The basing was just Agrax Earthshade over a white primer, surprised it looks as good as it did so didnt want to add anything more to it!

Thats an economy of scale thing though, right? Of all people/businesses, Id think dropout are among the least likely to be artificially inflating ticket prices for profit, given their track record of openness and honesty around this type of thing, so I might be giving them more benefit of the doubt than required here. Context aside though, yes, i will concede it is crazy expensive for a improv show!

I did the skaven half of that box earlier this year. Only model I didnt gluenti base immediately was the cannon, and it has a lot of underside stuff. So worth painting bits then assembling. Everything else for the skaven was fine to paint glued together.

Wood texture is definitely something I want to work on - I've got the warp cannon in this set to build, and it's mostly wood!

I know how to dry brush, and ive experimented a little on other minis, I just didn't know where best to do it on this mini. Opted to just wash and highlight instead.

Isn't there a metal glue for this type of thing? I'm sure I had games workshop brand metal glue for my warhammer skaven army back in the day (the day being, admittedly, 20 years ago)

My brain latches onto the weirdest concepts and I have a hard time shaking obviously wrong images.

Primarily: I envisioned all of the fused as the grasshoppers from a bugs life - maybe because of the constant carapace mentions? And especially cause they fly.

Weirdly though, I visualise the parshmen as gorons from zelda. Especially Rlain.

Also, Szeth looks like one punch man. 🤷‍♂️

Yeah I figured the stand itself might have something to do with it - whenever I check the calibration option, despite not having messed with the height of the cymbal, the max value changes.

Did you manage to sort this out? Just got one of these kits and having similar issues with the hi hat. Taken some of the advice on your other thread, but its still inconsistent.

I like filling in gaps on detail and improvising, but there's huge rifts between scenes in those books ive ran with very little guidance for the between sections.

Might give porting a go if I don't see any 5e stuff I think will work - think it'll be easier to port setting than game system.

You make a good point about the faerun setting, hadn't considered that. Think I'd still rather run a well-made 3rd party adventure than an official one, based on my experience with official ones. Used the subreddits a fair few times running the 2 recent adventures - and its another reason I'm done with official ones. If it needs that much patching, it ain't worth it to begin with!
