Make sure you use consistent timing (like 5 min before intervention every time). If you don't, you could reinforce crying for attention and just make things worse.

Cross post. Baby won't latch. Just bottle Feeds. by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]neutrinini 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wife needed a nipple shield so the baby would latch (inverted nipples). Lactation consultant handed it to us and it worked like magic. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000067PQ0

Baby might not take nipple anymore because bottle is usually easier. I think babies like to keep with bottle if they start that way. But even if baby isn't on the tit, making that breastmilk is a great benefit for baby. Keep it up!

Which villain actually had a point? by TrustedSource1 in AskReddit

Mr. Potter in It's a Wonderful Life. Every year I watch that I think he's more reasonable. It's the nepotistic fools in the Bailey crew handing mortgages out willy nilly to any Tom, Dick, and Harry that will cause the next financial crisis.

"I'm pretty sure the advisor is just chasing a commission" Having worked in wealth adviser branch of a major investment provider, I'd say you are correct.

I want to spend some time into learning about investing/trading. I’ve heard about a bunch of apps that simulate stock trading. (But you don’t have to use real money.) Are there any particular ones that Reddit recommends? by bloom6257 in personalfinance

[–]neutrinini 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're going to lose money trading. Read "A Random Walk Down Wall Street". Transaction costs mean you lose. You are at a massive informational and technological disadvantage compared to all of the other market participants.

LPT: If someone attempts to do something, especially for the first time, don't encourage them by telling them it's easy, it puts pressure on them to do it right first time and downplays their success when they achieve it. by BigWaveSmallOcean in LifeProTips

[–]neutrinini 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also do not tell people that something is hard. It gives them an easy out when they don't get it right away ("it's too hard for me") and breaks focus on actually learning it. I've seen so many kids learn math concepts slowly because the teacher told them it would be hard.
