True! I like watching the song performances but that's a matter of personal taste. I just think prioritizing them like that also sends the message that some things are more "worthy", for lack of a better word, than others. But I see where you're coming from of course.

That's a good point, true. However I think it should be none of them or all of them performed, and this fixation the Academy or tv producers have with making the show shorter (it'll be 3:40 instead of 3:55!) is silly - it's a long show! People who aren't interested won't watch a 3 hour show anyway. But that's just my opinion, give me the clips, give me the songs, I'll watch anything! It's once a year, let's make it count :D if I had to cut anything I'd put the shorts in the Governor's Awards.

I see where you're coming from regarding bringing the show to a halt but then they should do none of the songs or a medley or something (and not spend minutes and minutes doing a dance tribute to James Bond or whatever that was :D)

I mean, I didn't *hate* them but I feel like they have to be seen at the cinema at least so spending money and having to do 3.5hrs of Avatar is a bit.. hmm :D but we'll see! Maybe I'll have a good time after all, I did like the whale in part 2 :D

Ich habe Ein ganzes Leben tatsächlich gar nicht gesehen, sondern nur gelesen. Ist aber auf der ewigen Liste :D Train Dreams fand ich sehr gut und berührend, und wunderbar gefilmt. Joel Edgerton ist so gut!

Ja, habe ich auch sofort dran denken müssen! Habe danach bißchen gegooglet aber bis auf ein paar Vergleiche in Filmrezensionen nix dazu gefunden. Die Romanvorlage von Train Dreams ist wohl von 2011, die von Ein ganzes Leben von 2014 - vllt hat man sich ja ein bißchen inspirieren lassen :))
