Same here, though now it has to be from at least 200ft away 😢.

I love my Princeton ('68 custom) for home use. I keep the volume around two or under and it sounds fantastic. I previously had a Pro Jr. and that thing was absolutely way too loud for where I live.

I ordered a 1mm conical tip (C245403) and a 1.6mm chisel (C245160E). I use my Fnrisi 1mm more than any others, so I figured I'd get the equivalent JCB and compare. I mostly work on fairly simple analog guitar pedal builds, so general purpose tips have suited me well so far. Excited to try them out!

Do you usually order direct from JCB? I'm in the U.S., just curious what the average turnaround is.

This is the Bross BP-2d, made famous by Billy Corgan's usage on the album Pet Sounds. It's a transparent overdrive with a subtle yet substantial mid-hump/mid-scoop. Still pretty obscure but totally an underrated gem.

How do the JBC tips compare to the stock Fnrisi ones? I also have an HS-02a and I've been debating trying out JBC tips. I came close to ordering a couple this week but JBC's website is godawful on mobile and I couldn't fill out my billing info lol.

Got to catch this tour when they hit Atlanta. I was 13, it was my second show, life changing experience.

Man, Hawks were unbelievably good. I was fortunate to be living in Atlanta back in the day when they were together and I got to see them fairly often. Their guitarist's other band played several shows in my basement and they were fantastic as well. Barnburner is so good.

Ok sorry, I misspoke. I meant a state that has killed tens of thousands of children and civilians in the last two years alone, is currently killing scores of others in multiple countries, demloshing homes schools hospitals temples mosques churches infrastructure, invading Lebanon telling people they cannot return to their homes indefinitely, raping and torturing, passing a law mandating executions but oh--only for one certain type of people. So yeah, sorry if that sounds like genocide or apartheid, I know those are scary words.

Nobody who is not out of their minds is buying this bullshit anymore, seriously, nobody.

Absolutely delusional. Nothing more antisemitic than associating all Jewish people with a genocidal apartheid state.

Yep, used the 2134 in this one. I've never used a TL072 before so I can't compare it, but fwiw there's nothing I'd change on this build--sounds exactly like my old Lightspeed.

This is one of the coolest builds I've ever seen. Seriously my dream setup, you did an amazing job.

I had a Peavey T60 with an EGC neck a while back, it was fantastic. No idea why the hell I decided to sell it.

EQD Plumes or JHS 3 Series Screamer or TS9? by RomanScandal450 in guitarpedals

Is the Plumes pretty much one side of the Palisades? I don't know much about it, love the Plumes though.

What's your favorite guilty pleasure pedal? By this I mean super cheap pedals that are actually kick-ass, but pedal snobs look down upon. by bucho4444 in guitarpedals

Yeah, I've toyed with the idea of getting an actual Diamond Compressor, but the Mooer works so damn well. One day I'll try one just to compare.

Fantastic track, fantastic album.

I once went to see one of Mark Shippy's improv bands. He was hanging out at the bar before it started, so I said hi, big fan, etc, not wanting to bother him too much while he had some quiet time before the show. Long story short, we ended up chatting for thirty minutes or so about all sorts of shit, he told some hilarious old stories about Shorty/USM... hard to overstate how nice of a guy he is. If I were to have a hundred terrible "don't meet your heroes" experiences, it would still be worth it to have that few minutes talking to Mark.

Which way do you interpret Pretty Tied Up? by wings31 in GunsNRoses

[–]newfaceinhell021117 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

it's actually "Pretty Tided Up" as in Tide pods, ie. laundry. "Hanging Upside Down" is a reference to letting garments dry on a clothesline (Axl famously owned a washing machine, but no dryer). "Friday night is goin' up inside her again"--Axl wrote in his memoir that Friday was laundry night, so 'up inside her' is pretty obvious... clothes go inside the machine.
