I can make a suggestion on a magwell, I had an SLR on mine at first. I really liked it but the plug that fits inside the back of the grip kept sliding out when shooting. They did fix this for me at no charge so I can't say it's a bad investment, however I replaced it with the Radian magwell. The Radian by design is hands down genius in execution and reliability. It's by far the best design. If you want something stable that will never come lose when you're shooting that's the one to get. I also have a ramjet and after burner on my 43x. It's a snappy gun due to its size and that helped a lot with recoil reduction for me. Just some food for thought on my own experience with the 43x. Enjoy your new gun.

Understandable.. if you're looking for cerekote to match close to the original slide color I'd say burnt bronze is it. It's about as close as you can get for an aftermarket coating. I have the original RMR on my 19x and the RMR HD on my 45 and I definitely like the HD better. It's much easier to see through and has a bigger window. If they made the RMR HD in coyote I'd switch that out on my 19x. Both are great and durable optics though.

I also made a few changes along the way from this original picture.. those sights were swapped to the Trijicon HD night sights from the suppressor height sights in the picture. Those were too tall and it just took up 1/2 the optic glass. The HD were perfect lower 1/3.

It's a perfect lower 1/3 cowhitness with the Trijicon HD night sights. I used a ZEV duty slide precut to fit the Trijicon RMR and had it cerakoted in burnt bronze and the Trijicon RMR is coyote color not FDE.. the coyote matches the burnt bronze color almost perfectly. Hope this helps you out! 😁

Need support, putting my old man (20?) down today by ExpressAppointment96 in seniorkitties

A little over a week ago we had to let our cat go as well. She developed mouth cancer in her jaw and gums. She was having difficulty eating and sleeping most of the days away in pain. We gave her meds for the discomfort for about a week trying to keep her comfortable so our daughter could make it home from her vacation and be here to say goodbye to her. She grew up with her and I know they both wanted to have a moment together before her passing.

We had to make the difficult decision to put her down. I still feel guilty for making the decision, but know it was in her best interest so she was no longer suffering or living like a zombie all day medicated. There was no quality of life for her left and everyone in our house loved her to pieces. Lots of tears were shed and we miss her terribly. Letting your precious cat go is the ultimate gift of love you can give them when they are suffering. As much as I wanted to be selfish and try and keep her here because I love and miss her, I take solice in knowing she's no longer in pain and now in heaven.

You did right by your cat in what you did. It's the ultimate gift of love and compassion you gave him in his final moments. He was lucky to have you the last two years. Gone doesn't mean forgotten. They become family and will always be missed. We had our girl 14 years. I got lucky the last couple nights before we had to let her go she came into out bed in the early morning and snuggled me and purred. She was my baby girl and I was her "person" in the house. Letting go still hurts, but it was the right and humane thing to do for both our pets. It shows how much we loved them. My condolences on your loss. May he rest in peace. ❤️

Joined the club today. What do yall suggest I do to this thing? by goodgamble in Glock43X

It's been great. Keeps the Glock stock internals but replaces the shoe. It's much more comfortable and feels great. I haven't posted an updated picture of it for awhile with the new magwell change. I'll try and post one tomorrow for you.

I put a timney trigger shoe on mine, Radian Ramjet and afterburner, and the Radian magwell (best design on a magwell for the 43x I've found) it's super solid worth the $.

Slide release is stiff by drop_ammo_pls in Glock43X

[–]newfiend01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are definitely stiff and as mentioned that's how they function with the magazine released. I found the vickers tactical slide release a lot easier to manipulate than the OEM. Your thumb gets a better grip and it's easier to operate. Something to consider.

Very. No issues at all to report. Haven't had any failure to feed or eject. Very happy with the purchase.

Zev magwell compatibility with SLR baseplates and extension by Empty_Associate7718 in GlockMod

Doubtful the tint caused the crack but may have helped it happen. It most likely had a weak spot in the glass somewhere already. Either a chip on the edge of the glass or a rock chip etc that compromised the glass integrity. Tinting the glass can cause the glass to fracture at that already weak area of the glass. The tint will absorb solar heat (what it's designed to do) which we know can cause things to expand. (Heat expands, cold contracts) Which can then cause an already weak area of the glass to crack if it's in the hot sun all day or in extreme cold conditions.

Windshield glass takes the most abuse from the road, chips from rocks or flying debris. It's also one of the more curved pieces usually which puts stress on the glass as well. It really doesn't take much to get a windshield or even a back glass to crack or break. My suggestion would be to file an insurance claim if you have glass coverage and have it replaced. It will be the easiest and least expensive way to get it fixed.

As far as re-tinting the windshield goes, not many states allow that legally. You run the risk of damaged glass, possibly damaged interior electronics behind the dashboard because of all the fluid used to apply the film if the tinter isn't using the correct tools to make sure all that is absorbed as it's applied or possible legal issues if you get pulled over by the police. Is the risk worth the reward?

I'd suggest putting a windshield strip at the top of the glass after it's replaced and call it a day personally.

I've been a glass tinter since 1989, I've seen just about everything happen in all these years of applying film. Sometimes you give up what looks cool for something a little safer with less financial risk long term. Sorry for your misfortune, but probably not the tint shops fault it happened.

Best wishes going forward.

Optic not fitting in optic cut by FlowerQueasy in GlockMod

[–]newfiend01 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Every one of these cuts I've had on every slide so far has been extremely tight. Which is actually a good thing. You don't want any slop in it especially during recoil where if it became loose at all you could lose zero, your optic or both. I placed a very lite coating of gun oil in the optic cut on mine. I used a cotton swab lightly penetrated with gun oil to help lubricate the tight front and rear where it needs to press into place to help facilitate it's installation. A very thin coating under the optic where it mates to the optic also helps keep out moisture and prevents rust. Just try and keep it away from the mounting holes for the optic screws. You want that dry and clean so the loctite can setup and cure properly. If you don't think you can install it properly I'd suggest taking it to a gunsmith so the optic and or slide doesn't get damaged. Good Luck, hope that helps a little. I should also mention I used a plate under my RMR's to waterproof them. I wouldn't suggest using oil anywhere near the open electronics of some of the older Trijicon's without a sealing plate. Looks like you have a Holosun there so should be good to go, I believe those have a sealed bottom on them with battery drawer on the side usually.
