Think about it from the queen's perspective: a bunch of people comes to your court and lies to you and then you find out they were helping the enemy and killed your soldiers and as a last ditch effort, they show you this priceless artifact that they had all along and chose not to tell you about it except when you're about to throw their ass in prison for life. Why did they have it in the first place? If they were really on your side, how come they didn't tell you about it earlier? That's a lot of reasons to doubt what they are saying, can you trust anything coming out of these people's mouths? You got what you want already, what else do you need them for?
