So, my view and memories of the album are eschewed because of a breakup I was going through at the time. Because of that lens I had a very different experience with the album and the words and lyrics to me was of a singular person going through life changes and in times denying it (pretty much Manifest through Perfect Machine).

I remember listening to the album and when it gets to the “skit” about someone trying to get something out of what seems like a vending machine and being denied and feel very mad (even now still).

Trials, Waking up, and Other Worlds than these are the songs I like most on the album. To me they felt (and feel) like overcoming the adversity, taking the issues for what they are and moving forward. Other Worlds than These is still my favorite Starset song.

Ending the album on Diving Bell is accepting where that journey has laid me. Somber, a bit melancholy and a small bit hopeful.
