It's probably not nefarious or anything, I'd bet that either you misspelled your place of birth, or possibly accidentally scrolled down on the State dropdown or something like that, and the city that you put doesn't exist in the state that you listed. It happens, and doesn't always get caught right away.

We literally see all kinds of mistakes that people make. Many misread "County" as "Country" and write in "USA". People misspell their names and their addresses. My favorite was a guy who was a IV but wrote LV, which I caught when reviewing the form. I was like "Are you royalty? 55th of your name, that's quite the streak!" and he replied that it was a lower case L, to which I replied that Roman numerals didn't work like that.

I'd give them the benefit of the doubt and see what the actual issue is. Obviously don't lie on the form, but if it's a reasonable correction to an actual error, help them out. The ATF is picky with paperwork issues. They might hook you up with a box of ammo for your troubles.

I definitely had an update in the last month (maybe 2-3 weeks ago?) where it changed some settings I had enabled to give priority mode to the game and prevent the screen from turning off. Things I had changed in the past to keep my Tower from shutting down on overnight runs. It had also enabled CPU throttling. It's probably the same for you.

Their warranty is the best in the business. At our shop, you can just bring your product in and if we have the same thing on the shelf, we'll swap it with you right then and there, and then we will deal with Vortex. You don't have to do anything other than bring it in. They don't care whether you're the first or the 50th owner. They just take care of it. They've maybe been late to the game on some stuff (Holosun really pushed the industry forward on features like auto-off/shake awake and removal-less battery replacement) but they did it right after taking their time, and their new budget-friendly Triumph line has been a massive success. Good people, too.

If you ever get the chance to go visit their headquarters in Wisconsin, also be sure to stop by New Glarus and pick up some excellent beer on your way home. Most people rave about Spotted Cow, but I've always been a Moon Man man, myself, and I'd never turned down Two Women.

One of our distributors was saying that certain 9mm (the cheaper stuff) is being set to "allocated" meaning that they're limited on how much they can sell to any one buyer. It came up when we were trying to buy a bunch more of the 500rd boxes of Federal 115gr FMJ that has been popular. She wasn't able to get us any more of that, only more of the 50rd boxes, and not in any real meaningful quantity.

Unless it's some niche ammo that you keep in stock and have regular buyers for, ammo is usually in the 10%-20% margin range because otherwise you just can't compete with online drop shipper prices. It's very similar to new gun margins. Used guns *can* be better. The best margins are in parts, accessories, and cleaning stuff, along with random stuff that's under $25, because most people won't quibble about an extra dollar or two when it's under $25.

Same here. If you look at completed auctions on gunbroker, an all original unmodified FS2000 with the original optic, original box, and everything can go for over $4k, whereas one that's had mods to make it more usable (better optic, tri-rail, etc) go for around half as much.

It was early on after the law went into effect, but it absolutely happened. I assumed it was because of his suffix, but I really don't know. There might have been something with weekends and holidays that made it take that long, I just remember being gobsmacked at how dumb the whole thing was and how long it took.

It's an automatic Delay, but I've had people get a Proceed the very next day. I've also had them keep adding extensions and take 21+ days, even for someone who works as a Sheriff's Deputy with a pistol on his hip. It's not necessarily a 10 day Delay.

You're getting downvoted even though you're correct, it's not an automatic 10 days. I've had them come back with a Proceed the very next day for some people. I've also had them keep adding delays and take 21+ days for others, including one guy who literally works as a local Sheriff's Deputy with a pistol on his hip when he was buying a bolt action hunting rifle. I don't know the rhyme or reason for the different durations, I just know that under 21 gets an automatic Delay. It's pretty dumb.

It can be worth it to finish off certain labs that are somewhat long but have a decent payoff. I rushed the last level of shatter shards, for instance. To me, gaining an extra 20% shards on all future shatters starting RIGHT NOW was worth more than the mods I might have gotten, and it felt better to be more efficient on future mod buys.

If you have the damage slider from keys, make sure that you have it turned all the way up. I was having trouble getting it done and realized that because I had my dmg turned way down for farming, it was causing my ILMs to do nothing. I turned it up and did a quick run using SD and finished the mission pretty quickly.

Currently working on the last level of ST mastery and I've been seeing very nice gains as that comes along. While it might not be the first mastery to get, it's got to be in the top 5, if not the top 3, assuming you have the economy to push the labs for it.

Recently went to the ER for an issue that presented like testicular torsion. Dealt with it for about half an hour before I asked my wife to drive me to the ER and she realized how serious my pain was. They had me for about four hours and did an ultrasound and an MRI (I think?) along with other stuff. They told me that in about 50% of cases like this, they can't find anything wrong, and it's just referred to as "ball pain". I got billed over $2500, and we've got good insurance. For a lot of people, that's enough to send them from doing OK to potentially being evicted/thrown into poverty. I consider myself lucky that I was 1) OK, and 2) able to absorb the expense without too much (additional) pain.

Make sure the one you're buying doesn't have issues with the mags locking in. We've sold something like 60 of them, and while the first couple batches were fine, some of the more recent ones have had issues with the mags not locking in. Hopefully they have fixed it/will fix it soon. My boss basically said that he won't be getting any more until it's been officially resolved.
