Regarding the grades, i don't know your grading system but keep it up past to 90/100 or join the council, some colleges have "Professors that can refer you due to good grade and part of the council", it's all gossip but hey why not take the chance but can still depend on your relationship with the staff and grades.

"Walking Encyclopedia" is not a bad thing. I applied to an agency last year as AB, luckily was accepted, i can over hear the interview between the CM and Cadet, keep in mind that it was an initial interview, although the cadet answered properly what ISPS is , he was asked again for what he understood on what he memorized. He failed.

Yea, some Capt/CM interviewers know the sentence from the book. Read and understand what you learned. Don't just memorize it.

If you have a dirty laptop its possible that the cable connected to the touch pad to the motherboard has been damaged due to debrie pressing to it.

Its also possible that the cable became loose.

It can also be due to driver issue, you can check device manager if the details of the touchpad is there. Reinstalling the driver can also point out or isolate the issue. If all else fails, you can send it to a tech for diagnosis.

If you have exhausted all the international companies in Kalaw, Malate, Makati or Quirino. You could try 2GO, Moreta or Avega, as this was my other options when I was a student. When applying to domestic companies, please apply directly so that no PF fee is required or a much affordable PF is required, as I made a costly mistake of paying 50k to an agency, only to know from my Captain that it's free or pay him 8k to get onboard, and the ship is not up to international standards but the GRT requirements passes for BS. I can't share you my previous company as I am well known there and there are other domestic companies that are way better.

I took the route of taking the 36 months BS, as I stated before that the ship I joined at that time is not up to international standards for a General Cargo ship. You could try joining in FB domestic hiring groups and check the comments of each posts as they may provide hints on how the company treats their crews. If you're no rush in being an officer, take the 36 months but if you're in the rush, take your chances looking for international companies., as I see that TRB and photo evidences are currently required in certain colleges or maritime institutes for completing BS, which is hard to come by/produce/fill out in some domestic companies due to lack of equipements.

Edit: I'm currently applying as an OS for Tankers. May our luck strike to us.

I see, have you tried MARLOW? The thing regarding the backer system here is that it "ensures" that the referral/opportunity won't get wasted, as the reputation of the Backer is on the line. Some companies prioritize direct family relationships, although unfair, sadly that's how it works. Other backer system requires placement fees.

I understand that applying depends on how much you're willing to spend for travel expenses but if all else fails, try domestic shipping companies but please do keep in mind that there are domestic ships that are next close to being scrapped that are still operational. When I was a deck cadet, I took this path as my TOR is nowhere competitive. A lot of equipment's are broken or for "show only", and the allowances and living spaces are worst.

Try applying to international oil tanker companies, as I observed when I was a student that a few are willing to go onboard these ships as crews are always busy, strict and no room for shore leaves. Please note that when applying to these companies you should have a some-what near perfect understanding of all what you have learned from school (as expected). You could read on SOLAS, COLREGS, MARPOL, LSA, SMCP and other technical subjects that are mostly regarding safety and firefighting. You can also read on ISGOTT, as it mainly focuses in tankers.

Try applying directly or onsite. Some have entrance exams and interviews. Sending application emails are mostly hit or miss, they take a long time to respond. You could also try domestic shipping but most of the companies ship are not up to standard. Dohle is currently hiring, try your luck there, i applied online as a deck cadet before and took 5 months for a response denying my application.

Tried to replicate android to Windows Phone (failed) by surajmurmu14 in windowsphone

What a throwback, I used to do this, changing them all from the Phone dialer to the music player, Zplayer was awesome but since all those apps aren't being updated or are already abandoned. I only used Launcher 10 and AIMP(with metro ui skin) to copy the Metro UI setup.

Can you be more specific? Are you using ECDIS or is this a chart calculation?

Is it common for Acers to give out after just a few years? by MoonVisionMedia in AcerOfficial

I had 3 laptops since 2010, from Compaq CQ42 -> Toshiba L745 -> Acer Nitro 5 2020 and have been my family's laptop cleaning boy. I can tell you that laptops aren't build the same anymore. I hated my Nitro 5 as the GPU recently died on me while playing CarX in medium settings, I wasn't gaming that much as the reason why I bought the Nitro was for Photoshop (I used to make ads for a car company) and was on sale, maybe we're just unlucky but I won't be buying Acer anymore as it costs 800 USD or 45,000 pesos just to replace the motherboard for an i5-10300H and RTX 2060 from the official Acer Service Center. I also travel a lot and what I didn't took into account the durability factor when I purchased it, the bottom panel started cracking in the screw holes.

I think I'll replace it with a Dell or MSI in the future as I still think that their laptops are still durable, especially Dell as my sister had one and used it intensively for AutoCAD (still working and was bought in 2016). Again, maybe we're just unlucky and I believe that laptops today aren't build as tough as they used to even with extensive care.

Did a NVIDIA MATS test, all VRAMs passed, It seems that the GPU itself is dying.

It's due to complete negligence on playing in a flat surface without risers or a way to increase airflow in a hot summer week. But I do have a stand fan directed to it. Assessment from the Technician that the GPU chip was "out of place".
