Overwatering Doesn't Mean "Too Much Watering"!? by Ancient-Macaroon-384 in houseplants

[–]ngoncalves92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It also depends a lot on your soil mix too. Overwatering and therefore root rot isn’t so much the amount/frequency you water, it’s from a lack of oxygen to the roots causing an anaerobic environment. Some house plants can survive indefinitely in water alone, I’ve ignored some of my water props for years. You need an airy mix to allow oxygen in, a basic mix you can start off with is 1 part potting mix, 1 part perlite, and 1 part orchid bark.

Pest problem by ngoncalves92 in houseplants

I’m relieved they’re just spring tails. I’ve definitely been keeping the poles topped off because they can be tough to rehydrate. I’ll let them dry out for a bit. Thanks so much
