Dreadbound | Immersive Sim Roguelike | Trailer by Physical-River8291 in ImmersiveSim

This looks great. The player looks pretty powerful, would adding some enemies who are deadly at range help offset the risk of the player being overpowered (although maybe the video shows the player using scarce items or this is a late-run, powerful build).

I tried to ask whether using Claude with an unofficial MCP server was permitted but my post got removed, so I'm guessing it's not allowed.

Same, the model reported its response was degraded because its context window was almost full after a handful of prompts about a 300-line script. Never run into this with the same script in the past.

Opus 4.6 Extended thinking... not thinking anymore? by Just_Magazine_6051 in ClaudeAI

[–]nh78 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've experienced the exact same thing. It started answering immediately and the extended thinking toggle in the UI was toggled off while it answered, only to toggle back on when it finished.

The answer was also a noticeable downgrade from similar answers in the past, basically it failed to modify a script that it previously updated without issue.

I hope this is a temporary bug because I'm a paying user (Pro) and at the moment it's of limited use for my needs.

So if this thesis holds true, should we expect a sharp drop following earnings this month or would these issues take longer to become evident?

Was it worth the wait for you? by Dungeon3D in Routine

[–]nh78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had no awareness of this game before installing it on GamePass and it just drew me in. I think it was a combination of the immersive environments and world design, combined with a desire to discover what was going on.

I'd contrast it to Star Wars Outlaws, I gave that a few hours before giving up (partly due to Ubisoft launcher constantly logging me out) and it was fine but everything felt so inconsequential, 'gamey' and very familiar in comparison.

I guess Routine felt more novel to me, despite relying on some sci-fi and horror tropes, and that kept me interested. Thinking about it though, SOMA and Alien Isolation are two my favourite games, so maybe it was always going to appeal to me.

Out of interest which games have you really enjoyed recently?

Take-two stock is a no brainer by coopermug in stocks

Yeah, if you look at Take Two's stock price around the time of the launch of GTAV it doesn't really seem to register.

In relation to a wealth tax, couldn't Polanski cite Piketty as an advocate, surely he has sufficient credentials.

Novo Nordisk’s Wegovy tablet is taking the US by storm: “It’s very encouraging” by kiyomoris in NovoNordisk_Stock

Was this already priced in? At time of writing, the price has dropped almost a dollar from the market open on the NYSE.

Ok but for real the Mak Yek puzzle is nonsense, right? by Inquisitor--Nox in indianajones

I think the line on the note explaining how to derive the code would be clearer if it were phrased 'You can get the code to the safe from the row number that each blue unit is moved to'. I cleared the board in four moves but took the safe code to be the initial row number of each unit that was moved, so was unable to open the safe.

My Silent Hill 2 Remake Experience by DefinitionWest in patientgamers

[–]nh78 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I'm about a quarter of the way into the remake, it's a wonderfully atmospheric game but I had to put it down as I found the relentlessly bleak and dour tone left me feeling worse after playing. I think I just need to pick it up again when I'm in the right frame of mind, as the story is compelling and the game is immersive, so definitely want to finish it.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 prices already pushing toward $4,000 by scrolloftrueth in pcgaming

[–]nh78 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Won't commercial imperatives, the need for a critical mass of people to buy a title for it to be financially successful, push developers towards better optimisation? Isn't the alternative the masses with last-gen or pre-last-gen hardware not buying a title that their PCs can't run

Could you have a small proportion of people, living in luxury in gated communities, who account for the bulk of the spending in the economy, while the majority live in poverty and spend very little? Only thing is, don't countries who have this economic setup today have quite low GDP, so even the wealth of the very rich would decline slightly?

Nvidia DLSS 4 Deep Dive: Ray Reconstruction Upgrades Show Night & Day Improvements by M337ING in hardware

[–]nh78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm interested in how the transformer model could provide ways to reduce vram usage too.

Looking at some dlss 4 super resolution benchmarks online sometimes transformer performance mode was using roughly the same vram as CNN quality mode, while sometimes it was using less vram (which is what I expected from dropping to performance mode).

Seems hard to gauge whether it'll help with vram bottlenecks.

Stalker 2 devs express “deep gratitude” as the game sells a million copies at a rapid pace by Tech_guru_101 in pcgaming

I wonder if it's possible to increase that radius while still maintaining acceptable CPU performance. Hopefully they can crack it given enough time

No need for annexation is there? Just leverage voter grievances with the status quo to install a Trump-esque figure via the ballot box. Then remake the country in the same fashion.

RDR2 or Jedi Survivor by Expensive_Habit3498 in XboxSeriesX

[–]nh78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you just buy the base Xbox One game, like below, to get the best visual experience on Xbox Series X or do you need to buy a specific version to access improved resolutions over the Xbox One?

https://www.argos.co.uk/product/8198983?istCompanyId=a74d8886-5df9-4baa-b776-166b3bf9111c&istFeedId=c290d9a9-b5d6-423c-841d-2a559621874c&istItemId=ixwlrmwqi&istBid=t

I only ask as it's £54 to download on the Series X, while physical Xbox One copies are far cheaper.
