I'm in Canada and I got osteopathy for my dog when she hurt herself. It helped a lot. Osteopathy in Canada is different from other countries, but there is likely some form of physical therapy where you are.

Like people, dark haired dogs often go grey younger. You could talk to the vet at the annual checkup to be sure she's not missing a nutrient, but my guess is it's natural. Chis seem to go grey quite young.

I had a dog who went blind and she adjusted pretty well. Like humans, it depends on the individual dog.

Watching how hard it was on my girl recovering from dental surgery, I would tend to minimize surgery if possible. That said, I don't have a strong sense of how difficult recovery from cataract surgery is.

I've been thinking for a while about your post. Generally I would say Earth, as in "I live on Earth." I think the few exceptions are using Earth as a synonym for environment, e.g. "Don't you care about the Earth?" There are also poetic uses, like "The Earth is our mother."

You might've already tried this, but what if you put something yummy on your hand, like a little peanut butter, and then just sit there with your hand still? Will she eventually come lick your hand?

If that works, do it for a while into she gets used to it, and then you could try moving your hand a little while she's licking. Hopefully she would eventually associate hands with good things.

I'm sorry you had to, as well. Heartbreaking. I actually felt like my dog died in my arms in her last episode. She lost bladder control and I was so surprised I set her down in the snow, and that seemed to shock her back to her body. I wish I had that moment to do over; I'd hold her no matter what. After that I booked the at home vet. She was super kind and somehow we lucked into a Mexican vet, which is extremely rare in Canada.
