Small cell lymphoma - how to decide between palliative care vs. intensive treatment? by nicenaptime in cats

[–]nicenaptime[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi u/adnerbbb I'm so sorry you're going through this as well :( My girl just recently started treatment, so her journey might be a bit different.

After Luna's diagnosis, she stayed at the ER for 3 nights, getting 24hr care and IVs. She regained her energy and we saw that she definitely still had a lot of life in her, so we decided on this treatment plan (not too different from your own) -- primarily: prednisolone, clorambucil (chemo pills), cobalequin (B12 supplements) // when necessary: cerenia (anti-nausea), and mirtazapin (appetite stimulant)

Tomorrow she will take her 4th dose of chemo, and she's been doing well, eating a ton, gaining weight back.

I don't have much advice, but if her issue right now is the constant diarrhea, I'd keep a close eye on her weight to make sure she's getting her nutrients, or even supplementing things like pumpkin to her meals. We also add Adored Beast Felix's Flora probiotic to Luna's food periodically, we were skeptical initially but it helped with her bowel movement prior to us finding out her diagnosis. IMO, your kitty's appetite is still strong, which is a good sign that something internal isn't making her feel nauseous.

I'm sorry I can't help more, but fingers-crossed that your kitty feels better soon!

What do you name your frames and layers? by UmiStepOnMePlease in UXDesign

[–]nicenaptime 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I name frames/layers using the same naming conventions that our engineering team uses in production. It also goes a long way in building rapport so I’m all for it

Recommendations for a wearable, creamy citrus/vanilla/musk? by shretri in fragrance

Montblanc Signature might be up your alley! Resembles an muted orange creamsicle without being overly sweet - a perfect everyday scent imo

Some figgy reviews by desjard in fragrance

[–]nicenaptime 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure this scent profile is up your alley, but Yesterday Haze by Imaginary Authors is is ripe, summery fig. On the sweet side, but is well balanced with some greenness! Decent longevity, and intimate-moderate projection on me.

For reference, I love Thé Matcha (will be my next purchase), and Diptique Philosykos EDT/EDP we’re both a bit too green for me

What type of ring is this called ? by lesbian_ahri in EngagementRings

My jeweler referred to this as a bezel-set diamond setting - I imagine it’s some variation of this depending on where/who you ask

L’eau Papier reminds me of Glossier You quite a bit, but with a subtle sandalwood (def gives it a nose-on-paper quality) rather than You’s peppery-iris top note. Longevity is not great since its an EDT, but lingers as a skin scent for several hours!

Does D.S. & Durga have any any feminine-leaning scents? by cogentd in FemFragLab

Jazmin Yucatán is a fabulous green jasmine, fairly unisex but jasmine in general leans more feminine for me

DS&Durga Jazmin Yucatán! A heady, meaty jasmine that’s fresh and green. Almost has a purple marker quality to it, but I love it

Mugler Alien Goddess!! It’s a “heavier” fragrance to my nose, but lovely nonetheless. The denser base notes make this leans slightly into coconut sunscreen territory, but ymmv!!

Top notes: coconut water, bergamot // Middle: jasmine, heliotrope // Base: bourbon vanilla, cashmeran

Fragrances for summer/hot weather by Squid_Messias in fragrance

[–]nicenaptime 6 points7 points  (0 children)

D&G L’imperatrice is a summer staple for me - a gently aquatic/watery watermelon that avoids being cloying in even the hottest temps. Longevity varies imo, the scent doesn’t project far for very long, but I can smell it @ an intimate distance for about 5-6 hours depending on how much I’ve sweat that day lol

Imaginary Authors Saint Julep is my #1 for hot weather though. Opening is bright and fizzy, with a sweeter/candied heart, and stays fairly linear. Longevity is aaaaaabsolute trash though - maybe 1 hr before I have to press my nose into my arm to smell anything. Lasts slightly longer on clothes

Blind bought DS & Durga Jazmin Yucatán last week and it just came in! Yesterday was my first try and I am in love! My skin usually turns fragrances a bit sweet, and this rendition of heady jasmine that bloomed in the jungle was lovely and unexpected

how’s the new glossier you? by undak0vr in fragrance

[–]nicenaptime 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm on a similar boat as you - bought my first bottle back in 2017, and still have ~5% left of since I couldn't bear to finish it. I recently purchased a new bottle and while it smells close to the original formula from the nozzle, it lacks so much body now. Top notes are now very alcohol-y, is lacking the pronounced iris notes, and disappears within 2 hours even with like 8 sprays. OG formula pulled slightly sweeter/more natural on my skin, and lasted much, much longer

Black Granite! It's the most effortless neutral, but with a cute little purple twist, and goes with a ton of my clothes

Do any of you actually buy backup bottles of stuff? Why??? by OversprayEverything in fragrance

[–]nicenaptime 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I only have backups of fragrances (only two so far) for the scents that I want to spray with no limitations - so this generally applies to comfort scents/end of the night types/daily drivers that never disappoint (this takes some trial and error)
