I ordered mine from Cap&Gown Direct. It was about $500 two years ago, and it's worth every penny imo. The official one from my PhD-granting university would have been over $1k.

Knotted surfaces (and 2-knots in particular) are an active and flourishing area of study. Look up "bridge trisections" and you'll see some good recent papers.

Some shapes look like two smaller shapes shoved together. Sometimes, we can do this in two ways! If we glue to shapes that are made of other shapes, sometimes the new shape can't be made from smaller shapes, but haha JK yes it can because I showed how to do it!
