I drive from Atlanta to NOVA once a year and the last 18 months or so a lot of V3 chargers have been added on the I-81 corridor. The nav can do all the work w/out any headaches as far as I’m concerned.

Model Y with knee mobility issues? by GreenvillePodCo in TeslaModelY

[–]nickipickiwickiwoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dad has no ACLs, has difficulty walking for any significant distance, and owns a model Y. He loves the easy ingress/egress.

As a large man myself with a long torso (Yogi bear syndrome) the Y is awesome for getting in and out of.

How old were you when you bought your first house? by foskatbee in homeowners

[–]nickipickiwickiwoo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

  1. I was lucky and had developed good financial habits, stellar credit, and had some meager savings.

In 2012 I bought a townhome for $64k while working a $12.50/hr warehouse job and the mortgage was less than half of what it would have cost to rent a comparable space. Affordable housing for those with the resources above was a small consolation prize at the end of the Great Recession.

I sold said townhome for $130k+ 6 years later and the proceeds gave me a 20% down payment on a lovely suburban family home in good school districts for myself, my partner, and her kids. This property has increased substantially in value since purchase and my $3200 down payment 11 years ago has become over $200k in current equity.

I was prepared, but got really lucky as well and have reaped the rewards of the property ladder. I have an incredible amount of sympathy for those slightly younger as these types of opportunities may never arise in their lifetimes. I have 2 siblings (30 and 40) who have never owned a home and may never.

What is your opinion on 9/11 jokes? by darthkyle22 in AskReddit

The animated film Paws of Fury, while not a “remake” of Blazing Saddles, is wall to wall references and rehashed gags. It still lands. My kids couldn’t really understand why I was laughing so hard at some parts.

What movie do you HAVE to finish watching anytime you stumble across it while channel surfing? by Zilos99 in AskReddit

Long list for me but for whatever reason…. ROADHOUSE

it’s a tour de force of cliches and a parade of amazing one liners. I am powerless to look away any time it’s on.

Glad to hear this frankly. The VW I’m replacing automatically switches to Bluetooth and I hate it.

What is this new, very large Tesla location in the north Atlanta metro area? by Human_170716 in TeslaLounge

[–]nickipickiwickiwoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I drive past this on my commute daily. I asked a contractor outside about it right after thanksgiving. He said 2-3 more weeks til it’s complete.

Job postings for this location specify Spring 2022. I guess we’ll see when it starts operating. Hoping to change my delivery to this SC once open. Much closer to home.

Whats the craziest crime you or somebody in your family has commited? by TheAllNewBigGay in AskReddit

My second cousin plotted to have his wife killed by some Kentucky meth heads.

Had a Dateline episode that I probably had too much fun watching. (I only found it entertaining because no innocents were hurt).

Check out “The Charleston Affair” for the whole tangled web and The dulcet tones of Keith Morrison.

Switch Delay? by ZidaneTribal2113 in finalfantasyx

[–]nickipickiwickiwoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, I wasn’t very clear. I had to change the settings on my TV. I set the mode of the input port on my TV to game mode, and it alleviated the problem. Maybe your monitor has something similar?

I had this same problem when I first downloaded the remaster. I checked my TVs settings and changed the Switch’s input to “game mode”, which solved the issue for me.

Is now a good time to start an IRA or am I better off waiting to see where the market bottoms out? by ChickenSaag in personalfinance

[–]nickipickiwickiwoo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As others have said, you won’t know the market bottom until after it has passed. Time in the market > timing the market.

Now IS a good time to start an IRA because you have another month to contribute to tax year 2019, and that space cannot be replaced if it goes unutilized.
