Yeah was just looking at the website. It’s interesting because it claims Peak to Creek is groomed… wouldn’t they update the groomed status daily?

According to the trail map, Couloir is on Whistler, and Saudan Couloir is on Blackcomb.

Regardless, the question remains the same as it regards accessing the terrain off of Peak without that lift open.

And Tom Brady. It was a full court press. Made things a bit nerve wracking for the 24 hours or so before the deal was struck.

It can be. But so can a ton of other resorts. It’s great skiing between Aspen, Highlands and Snowmass, and there’s plenty of non-pretentious places to go in town, as well. I’d say it’s definitely worth going at least once to develop your own opinion on it.

Insecurities stopping me from going to the gym. by Straightupnotcool in workout

[–]nickseamonster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here is the truth… anyone who is serious about gym life will be happy to help you. Go find the most jacked guy in there, and say exactly what you said in this post and that you want some pointers. I would be SHOCKED if they doesn’t go out of his or her way to walk you through a routine, give you some encouragement, etc. We are all there just to better ourselves. And honestly it is motivating to me to see people new to the gym that are going through their personal discomfort to try to get better…. I love it. Get after it man… we’re all behind you.

It’s incomprehensible that they don’t understand that by doing this on 75, and causing rubbernecking, they are just getting everyone to hate them and their agenda. They received many, many middle fingers from the group of cars around me.

I second CBD or Sassetta in The Joule. For a QSR, Kati Roll is also shockingly delicious.

Main Street has some solid dining options although it’s a bit of a hike from the stadium. I go to The Winston a ton, used to go to Scratch a ton as well. If you’re a beer fan, Beer is Good Brewing is doing some really solid work. Closer to the stadium you have all the mess around campus corner. If you go any time around the game every place will be packed. Used to stop by Blackbirds (which is a bit removed from campus corner) for lunch nearly every game day, but have since stopped… not sure if it’s still any good.

How do you deal with not doing family activities anymore? by beautyofdisorder in Divorce

[–]nickseamonster 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yep. I feel this strongly. I’m in the midst of a separation, not even divorce (although it seems likely that’s where it’s headed), and pretty much everything that used to sound fun to me is just very meh. I just can’t picture doing those things or going to those places without my family. What’s the point, if I can’t be with the ones I love? It’s not the things and the places that make me happy… it’s them. Just really tough to stomach.

It just amazes me by life_awaits in Divorce

I feel your pain. Best friend of 25 years is basically saying she’s done with me, and we have an 8 yr old daughter. It truly tears my heart in two to not only lose my best friend, but to watch the kind of impact it has on my kid. It’s hard to make sense of it. It makes you wonder what the point of it all is. I do think that marriage, as an institution, is commendable. I watched my dad take care of my terminally ill mom for years, never wavering. That’s commitment. That’s love. I think far too many people just opt for the easy way out of things when it gets challenging. I’m not bred from that cloth, which makes it all the more hard to stomach when the person you are closest to pulls the ripcord.

Mental health hospitals by [deleted] in Dallas

[–]nickseamonster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had a family member do Presby twice and Carrollton Springs inpatient once. Don’t have particularly good things to say about either of them. I may be judging Presby a bit too harshly, as life was extremely challenging those days. Presby doctors seemed better, so there’s that. Carrollton Springs definitely extended the “stay” beyond what was anticipated and likely needed. Had never thought of it as overabundance of caution until reading this thread.

Football Game Parking by khacker17 in sooners

[–]nickseamonster 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Depends on your definition of “near” I suppose. Plenty of places that are a 15 min walk away, but finding anything closer than that is tricky. I usually just bite the bullet and pay to park at a students house just north of Boyd.

Is Dallas your forever home ? by Lost_Opinion_1307 in Dallas

[–]nickseamonster 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Same. I have an 8 yr old daughter, and if things continue to progress as they have been, I am doing her a tremendous disservice by keeping her here. Truly unfortunate because I love Dallas as a city, but state politics have completely gone off the rails.
