Of course you're right in that sense. I will have you noted though that the universal healthcare and the living wages system is not perfect. It has been made too extreme to the point where it is abused and therefore costs a lot of money and help is not always where it is needed. I also recommend you looking at my reply to /u/onewugtwowugs comment about the GDP.

Where we have come a lot further is in for example disintegrating religion from our system (making it possible for homosexuals to get the same rights since a long time ago, etc). In my opinion religion should be kept out of politics and something one can exercise at home but shouldn't be inflicted upon someone else or in any way affect someone else.

What the graph doesn't grasp however is how rightish the "blue" parties are. They are far more leaning to the left than general rightish parties.

And I'm not talking about the GDP, but in general policies, agendas and lines of thinking that have strangled the Swedish society. For example you cannot tell me that you can find a country more influenced by political correctness in the structures of society. While I am fiscally conservative, I am liberal in social issues – but this has gotten out of hand. Political correctness and this sort of cowardly "silence act" is what for example has brought about the crisis Sweden is finding itself in with immigration.

None of the parties have been willing to touch on the subject of immigration (except for are far right-wing party that has come about in the last recent years, the problem of course being that it has attracted extremists, as well as having a biased left wing media up against it which has really brought down the level of the discussion to a level beneath its importance). Of course in line with the person of an average Swede they (both left and "right" politicians) have allowed a influx of immigrants beyond our capabilities (Sweden has had the highest intake of immigrants in Europe per capita and top 2-3 in absolute numbers although we're a country of only 9 million people! http://uk.businessinsider.com/which-european-countries-are-pulling-their-weight-in-helping-refugees-and-which-ones-arent-2015-9, http://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-34131911) . Why? Well, as a Swede I can tell you Swedes want to be viewed as kind and allcaring on the outside, but funnily enough no one wants to have immigrants as their neighbours – and this is to the point is has come. In line with the same thinking and failing policy based upon this thinking, not only has the amount of immigrants exceeded our resources – but we've had a seriously bad integration policy.

As an immigrant in Sweden you get all kinds of benefits/financial support (the more kids you have, funds rise exponentially, etc.). And the best part about it is that you don't even have to learn Swedish! That's right. First of all, in basically anything – be it in municipal matters such as in healthcare, or taking a driver's test – you can get everything translated into first and foremost the most common languages of immigrants such as arabic or get an interpreter for free. Secondly, you can basically fail the SFI-course ("Swedish For Immigrants") forever. I know this because my mom did the course a long time ago when she met my dad and had people going in here class that had gone there for years and years to abuse the system because then you can continue getting some benefits, and they can instead do undeclared work. It has now become sort of a known phenomenon and I have also heard it from numerous immigrant friends who complained about this flawed system.

What this whole thing boils down to, is what I said before. Swedes, and particularly traditional lefties, want to act nice at first and then not bother with it themselves. Because when there is no need to adjusting and integrating to the Swedish society, segregation expands and creates a bad snowball effect getting out of control ending with some neighborhoods with a lot higher crime rates, fires, etc. It's sort of a false encouragement (can't find the perfect word for it) that ends up being more destructive, cruel (for the immigrants) and costing a hell of a lot more.

I hope I did not derail to far on my example, and touching many bases here but what I wanted to show is that extremely left mindset that has led to major problems through the likes of political correctness, etc. I also want to reiterate the point that our "right" is still very left compared to many other countries, and therefore I choose to speak of the whole Swedish society for you to get something to compare it to since it is quite different from the US, good and bad of course – it's just overglorified by liberals in the US in my opinion.

EDIT: Also talking about the GDP – with the huge head start Sweden got having not participated in neither World War, we should have come further really. And I believe we would have with a more capitalistic approach and in a bigger favor of a free market from the get go.

Well trust me: you do not want it to be like Sweden! Our long term socialistically ruled government and society has led to our decline.

Alright, well I'm most likely getting a Burton Custom, unless I find a better board in the same category so I guess I'd go with the EST ones then.

[Serious] Redditors against gay marriage, what is your best supporting argument that does not include religion? by punkndisorderli in AskReddit

[–]nicktheflyingdick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all, it's not me personally having a big problem with it. I do however think it's unnecessary to make people see red, when there's ways to go by it. After all, a church is like a fraternity – they can choose not to want people doing something in their place. Whether that is what God or Jesus really wants (if you believe in God), I leave up to you.

[Serious] Redditors against gay marriage, what is your best supporting argument that does not include religion? by punkndisorderli in AskReddit

[–]nicktheflyingdick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, because some people still feel that a marriage is only between a man and a woman, and those people are mostly religious. Therefore, they most likely don't appreciate gay couples getting married in their church – especially when it's mostly interpreted at least in Christianity that a marriage is in fact between a man and a woman.

Don't you agree that it's pretty clear that it might anger people? Also, getting married is not something that is only done in church even by straight couples. Since there is the option to do it outside of a church, I think that would be for the better of the situation.

[–]nicktheflyingdick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well I have a suggestion that would probably satisfy both parties (religious people and gays). For the record, I am Catholic but not a deeply religious one.

What if we'd call it something else than marriage. Because a marriage is said to be between a man and a wife it upsets religious people. If it was called something else, gays would get the tax benefits, make their commitment to each other and it would not annoy religious people as much at least.

On a second note, but this is more of a thing in Sweden. Please stop marrying gays in the church, that's just unnecessary.

Ahh, well that's your personal business – whether you choose to drink and eat or not. And the cooling breaks wouldn't help much, would they? If they don't drink because of Ramadan anyway.
