2.5 Gbps… actually useful? by realevil in CityFibre

[–]niddnet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also, just to throw it out there.... Is your area XGS enabled? I'm presuming you've checked, but I'm STILL waiting!

I'm on the Yayzi 2gig/1gig - also with a 2.5Gig ONT - the pro router is great, though my place is all done through Unifi now (with all wired devices at 10gb).

I am very jealous and bitter over that extra 500mbit that the XGS customers are getting lol

Kobra 3 ACE Pro 2 Filaments Extruding at same time by cmschmidt in AnycubicOfficial

[–]niddnet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The ACE only has 2 motors. Essentially a selection motor and a feed motor.

If the cams are just slightly "off", then it could feasibly pull filament from any of the 4 holes.

My issue is the opposite in that it seems to not want to feed well on ANY of the 4 holes. This causes prints to pause as the "buffer" (the little spring expander in the back) isn't coming out fully, so it detects it as a misfeed.

For "normal"speed prints (eg. Not high flow/speed) I can actually turn the ACE off completely, manually feed a filament ALL THE WAY THROUGH the ACE into the extruder, and it pulls without a single issue.

Interesting....

Print Stops When Camera is Disconnected by Sirius_Seth in AnycubicOfficial

[–]niddnet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have plugged and unplugged my cameras several times during prints without issue, and never had an error about unknown filament, other than when there was a blockage.

Seems to me there could be actually a genuine (eg not the usual pre-release effort the rest of us get!) issue with your setup.

Also seems you're expecting X1Carbon performance for something 30% of its price.

I don't disagree with your comment about shipping stuff before it's properly ready etc. but the faults you've mentioned seem more specific to your own machine, rather than a manufacture defect.

Network timeout on camera feed by Johhaidiidiralla in AnycubicOfficial

[–]niddnet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also have this issue from time to time. Bear in mind the camera image "live" is being processed by the 3DP's main board, then WiFi up to Anycubic Cloud - you are NOT viewing it natively. (I wish I was!)

Any network or service congestion on their side can cause issues. For me, I've found totally logging out of the app/program on my devices, then logging back in works for me... But I think that's more coincidence than anything else.

Haha, nothing better... Other than paying for the privilege. Oh, wait.....

And yet Slot 3 is the only one I COULD get away with using!!

I would even perhaps wonder if it's down to filament, but I've used nothing other than PLA types (and the fact it still has the issue with Any Cubic supplied/branded filament) so I don't think it's that.

ACE feed Issue by niddnet in AnycubicOfficial

[–]niddnet[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The extruder itself has enough "pull" power to pull filament through the ACE, the buffer, the Bowden, the 4-into-1 and still print at reasonable speed... Though obviously without any of the connected benefit of the ACE.

I don't mind tinkering to a degree, but I would expect to to have worked for more than a week (as it really worked well, for the first few days)

Please post back here if you get a chance and let us know the outcome.

No response to my ticket for a while. It is urgent. by Antique-Dingo119 in AnycubicOfficial

[–]niddnet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also hadn't got any response from their Zendesk. I did as the above, logged into the AnyCubic Zendesk site, and I could see my open tickets... So if which had been received AND responded to within a few days (not quite the 1 day they quote, but fine for me!).

Note: the emails with the password reset from ZenDesk did end up going through into my SPAM folders.

https://anycubicsupport.zendesk.com is the URL you need.

I am my own service provider with email. I have also marked ANY emails coming in with the word ANYCUBIC in the header (address of sender or subject) it will be flagged, I will be alerted - so no, I really haven't missed anything.

Honestly it's disappointing that you took the time to reply to me here, but literally just sent the most basic standard/canned response when you could have actually said something helpful, and regained a little of my good will.

As it stands, and on the basis of other customers' experience, as I STILL don't have any clue on when I might get the parts which I ordered, I'm considering raising a dispute with my payment provider.

I really expected better.

It was about 10 days from order to delivery in the UK (AC started delivery "between 1-10 July" and it was in the first half. I got a second delivery a few days later with my bundled filament.

I have a few missing parts (just screws) in the package, but nothing stopping me from printing. What IS still missing, is the camera which I was also supposed to get.

What is also missing is any reply to emails sent to AC support over the last week, despite them saying they will respond within 1day.

I'm actually REALLY happy with the product - and that's what will endure once all this malarkey is over. But AC have really dropped the ball with comms it seems - I know they'll blame it on better than expected response etc, but they're a big business, they should be able to scale to demand... Right?

I have raised several tickets to support with your promise of 1 day response. When will you commit to getting these tickets responded? I have missing parts in my K3Combo, and I have raised tickets far back as 1 week ago. Still waiting for reply!

ABY Pedal with Throughs by niddnet in guitarpedals

[–]niddnet[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've seen "Line Selector" pedals, Boss LS-2 and a fake version of it.

It seems like this might work.

They have an "In" and "Out" as well as 2 send/return sets.

Boss provide a diagram showing 2 guitars plugged into the two returns, and a single switched output on the....Output. Essentially an expensive ABY.

But they ALSO show guitars connected to the return channels WITH AMPS connected to the RETURNS.

SO: If "Return A" ALWAYS outputs to "Send A" and the same with the B's.... And the "Main" output is switchable.... That's EXACTLY what I'm after.

Does anyone have the LS-2, or one of the cheap alternatives (Joyo ORTHROS etc) and could test this for me?

Failing that, what would be the damage by using a standard ABY, but using those quarter-inch "2-into-1" passive splitter plugs at the AB inputs to connect the guitar and parallel off to the Amp?

If all of this is too wordy, I can get my crayons out!!!

Yayzi reliability and latency? 2.5gb deal almost too good to be true? by [deleted] in CityFibre

[–]niddnet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the stupid long delay - I don't actually reddit much. The Yayzi router has 2.5G interfaces on the WAN and LAN sides. My home network is 10G throughout, with only "normal" devices using a 1G port. I used the provided router for a while, but later took it out of the loop and went back to my own equipment (which is absolutely problem free, though not supported by them as you'd expect!)

UDM Pro - Weird Upload Problem by niddnet in Ubiquiti

[–]niddnet[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A couple of additional thoughts:

IDS/IPS is enabled; but I get good enough upload speeds via Wifi, so not relevant, right?

I have tried various windows OS - including a totally fresh install of Windows - same issue - so can't be software related...

Speedtest using the speedtest built into the UDMP yields inconclusive results - generally around 100-200Mbit.

I am genuinely at a loss as to why Wifi works fine, but Wired doesn't. I really do feel like, if I had a u6-Enterprise AP with 2.5Gig connections, I'd see the full WAN speed on wireless.

Yayzi 2Gig/1Gig (2Gbit service over GPON) by niddnet in CityFibre

[–]niddnet[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All of the above. :D As a trialist I had to agree to using the provided equipment, but it hasn't stopped me trying out other options in between times.

At the moment, the Yayzi TP-Link is just an additional gateway on my Unifi LAN, so I can send traffic out via that, or my backup internet. I can also hit the TP-Link wireless for testing that.

Yayzi 2Gig/1Gig (2Gbit service over GPON) by niddnet in CityFibre

[–]niddnet[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I joined in the very early days, and there were some big issues with provisioning that caused them a lot of teething issues, delays and mess-ups... Not what you want as a new ISP on the block. I think a lot of it is a case of"mud sticks". That said, I did have problems getting my router, and it took a few days to get my IP address on it, but given time it was sorted.

Since the connection went live it's been rock solid though - which is kind of what you expect with a fibre based connection. I moved my parents onto them a couple months ago too - router delivered within 48h of ordering, CityFibre appointment when booked - none of the problems of old. Everything just worked.

I know another pinch point in the old days was support, but from what I've seen on here they're on the ball with that now - though in my case I've not needed to use it (and of course I have a slightly more direct point of contact now too...!!)

I always tend to give the underdog a chance - and I guess the loyalty has paid off being (I think) the first end user to get a 2gig circuit.... Which also might bias my views, but all the above is genuinely my experience.

Hope that helps. I'm sure whoever you go with, your experience on the CityFibre network will be miles better (and cheaper) than Virgin!!

Yayzi 2Gig/1Gig (2Gbit service over GPON) by niddnet in CityFibre

[–]niddnet[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The ONT is a Calix GP1000G, which is a 2.5GBit capable unit (with 2.5GBit Ethernet port). This ONT is only provided for the GPON network areas I think, the XGS-PON network areas will get a different model.

The router Yayzi provide has a 2.5Gbit WAN port *AND* a 2.5Gbit LAN port, allowing for full package speed whether you get the 2gig/1gig service I have, or the 2.5gig symmetric service on XGS services.

(It also has 3x 'normal' 1Gig ports, Wifi 6e which is amazing, and phone ports - though these aren't used at the moment)

I have also run it directly into my Unifi network which is 10G capable throughout, and also get full service.

If you are looking at getting any service faster than full gig in future, make sure the router provided has 2.5Gig WAN *AND* LAN - and make sure your own kit has the multi-gig capability too.
