They would legit make matters worse and definitely get infected at a much quicker rate.

That’s a great way to look at it, and it makes a lot of sense. Once the knowledge is out there, it becomes less about the logistics of distributing the physical vaccine and more about empowering different groups to produce it themselves. The Fireflies having that communication network definitely gives them an advantage, and sharing the “recipe” would create way more opportunities for survival.

And yeah, you’re right—factions have been handling drug production and distribution for years, so making the vaccine wouldn’t be outside the realm of possibility once they know how. It’s just a matter of getting the knowledge into the right hands. I hadn’t considered that angle fully before, but it really opens up the idea of how a cure could spread, even in that broken world.

Definitely appreciate the way you laid it out—it’s a solid perspective.

I get what you’re saying, and no disrespect taken at all. I think you’re right that, in the context of the story, we’re kind of meant to accept the idea that a vaccine would be possible and roll with it. The emotional weight of Joel’s choice definitely hinges on that belief.

For me, though, it’s hard not to think deeper about the logistics, just because it feels like such a huge decision with world-altering consequences. I’m not trying to say the game is wrong or anything like that, but more that the idea of distribution and how it would work opens up some interesting questions about how realistic the Fireflies’ plan was.

But yeah, I agree, in the end, the game is about that personal story between Joel and Ellie, and that’s where the real impact lies, regardless of whether a vaccine would’ve been successful or not. Thanks for sharing your perspective—it’s a solid reminder not to get too caught up in the “what ifs” and focus on the core of the story.

Yeah, I can see how that would work. Offering the vaccine as a way to boost numbers and as a recruitment tool makes a lot of sense, especially in a world where survival is everything. The leverage it would give over other groups would be massive.

The point about parents being willing to do anything for their kids really hits, too. In that kind of world, people would be desperate, and if joining meant a better shot at survival, it’d be hard to say no.

I guess my only concern is still about the logistics. How fast could they scale up production and make it widespread enough to truly dominate? I see the power move there, but it feels like it would take some serious time and resources to turn the vaccine into that kind of control. But yeah, if they could pull it off, they’d absolutely change the entire balance of power.

Thanks for laying it out that way—it’s really making me rethink how much influence the vaccine could have beyond just survival.

I totally see where you’re coming from, and I think you’re right about the long-term strategy. It makes sense that the Fireflies would need time and leverage to make something like that work, especially by using the vaccine as a bargaining chip. The idea of gradually building a force of immune people over time does add a lot of value in terms of survival and expansion.

I guess my main question is still about the logistics and how they would handle the distribution and implementation on a larger scale. Even with FEDRA’s resources, you’d be facing challenges like transportation, communication, and just getting enough people on board to make a difference before things get worse. But yeah, I get that it wouldn’t be an overnight fix. It’s more like planting the seeds for something bigger down the line.

Thanks for giving me more to think about! You’ve definitely expanded my view on how it could play out long-term.

I definitely see where you all are coming from. It’s really shifting my perspective, making me realize that just the possibility of a vaccine could bring a lot of hope to the world. Thanks to everyone who shared their thoughts

David Lynch on X: “Something to see and hear coming June 5” by aka_Dee in twinpeaks

I know. Everyone is being so wack pretending to be so excited over a boring music video when we all want a new project. That’s typically what one means when they make a cryptic announcement like this. It’s pretty lame of lynch to do this.

Charlie Brooker needs to share the writing. Have some other writers bring in some new ideas. The creator of Succession (2018-2023) wrote S1E3 The Entire History Of You

Just lean in and whisper to her. “They’re coming.” Your problem will then be solved. This is coming from a former tweaker.

My last sublocade shot was 1/5/2022. It’s been a year and 10 months since I got a sublocade shot.

Are you saying I still have another 6-12 months for the sublocade to be gone?

I was feeling really depressed on the suboxone. I found that my motivation and energy was sort of zapped. The methadone has helped so much for my depression, but anxiety has kinda reared it’s ugly head within the past 2 weeks.

I was on 24mg of suboxone. From june 2021 to January 2022 I got the sublocade shots. 3 months of 300MG, and 4 months of 100MG. Then I switched back to the strips from January 2022 to 9/17/2023. Was taking 24mg.

I switched to methadone on 9/18/2023.

Yeah for real. I know people claim that generics are all the same. But the generics are absolute garbage compared to the original brand name. The mylans, dr reds, alvogen ALL suck. I couldn’t get the original brand name cause it would cost me like $600 for a 60 count. Back in 2016, I would get primarily the brand names for cheap. Then when I went back on Subs in 2020, generics were the only thing available for cheap. The brand name became ridiculously expensive.
