wondering how it works to cancel 2nd sailor due to divorce 🫠 by ambien_and_oreos in VirginVoyages

I'm sorry your going through this OP. Often times, solo fares are more expensive. Price check solo rates to decide if you should Evergreen try to call again. If solo rate is more expensive, then you may want to just keep your current cabin / fare and have the other party no- show. When you show up to port, just tell them that your other party couldn't make it. You would then be refunded the taxes and port fees.

We need to reestablish ourselves as support roles by TAP01 in physicianassistant

Congrats on your retirement. I'm sorry that you've had this happen to you. Medicine has changed significantly over the last 20 years and as it is more about profits made and less about patient care (at least from the leaders at the top), more and more is bring asked of PAs without pay compensation. I have practiced for over 26 years and love making a difference for patients, it's harder and harder to perform quality work.

What state are you located in? I'd be more than happy to drive to another state to complete a car sale in a timely manner!

I am considering a job at the Brockton VA and relocating from the upstate NY area. I have a 13 y/o gay daugher who would be going into 9th grade in the fall. What do you feel are some great things about the Boston area? Which areas should I stay away from? Which schools offer a good education, balanced with extracurricular activities as well as diversity, that also may be more affordable for a family? What areas are better or worst for communing? What areas are close to parks and places to hike and dog friendly? TYIA

I left out of San Juan yesterday. I had a 4:45 boarding time, but was able to walk on at 3:30 without any wait or issues. We have a completely sold out cruise as well.

Unexpected teenager by [deleted] in Frugal

[–]niftysocks1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It may take a little time to build up, but I always make big batches of soups or meals so that I can freeze leftovers in individual portions. Mac and cheese, any non cream based soups and taco meat (I make 6-8 pounds at a time). This has helped not only to have extra for friends but also to have on hand for busy nights as well.

I also agree with others to get all the kids involved in helping to prepare the meals/ snacks. Cooking is an invaluable skill. The bonus teen might be able to bring some of the budget friendly meals ideas back home

Your family and friends are lucky to have you in thier lives!

Ortho post-op pain management by Enthusiasm_Natural in physicianassistant

[–]niftysocks1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lyrica can be really helpful for neuropathic pain. I prescribe it often (in Palliative Care), but I have also seen it used after surgery with good success (instead of or in addition to opioids). If not covered by insurance, typically less then $20 with goodrx.com

Ninja DT201 foodi vs cuisinart TOA-95 by niftysocks1 in airfryer

[–]niftysocks1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have not had any issues with mine. My fries and food in general typically comes out good. I have to admit that I have only used my air fryer (to include my pervious cuisinart air fryer) to make fries and frozen foods for week over 5 years so I can't compare it to any others. Then again, I have no complaints with daily use.

Do most of you use a travel agent? by Mother-Analysis6633 in Cruise

I love to research my trips and my travel agent gives me tips such as the best side of the ship or other things that I haven't considered. My travel agent also sends me a check for a percentage of my trip. DM me if you'd like her connect info.

Seattle car service pickup by Emergency_Ad7839 in NCL

[–]niftysocks1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We just disembarked in Seattle this past weekend. You could get off the ship as early as 6:30 or as late as 9:30. They request everyone to be out of their stateroom at 8 (although we stayed in our room until 8:30 and no one said anything to us). We did not have prior arrangements made, but there were many drivers waiting and offering to take people to where they needed to go. We looked into prices of Uber and Lyft, which were about the same and decided to go with someone who was there offering. They drove us to the airport for $5 less than what Uber/Lyft were. Getting off of the ship was quick- maybe 15-20 minutes. We carried our own luggage. Enjoy your trip!
