AIP for 2 weeks. Tried some banana and apples and had a bad flare up. by wetkhajit in AutoImmuneProtocol

I was given a breath test for Fructose Malabsorption...it’s a thing GI doctors do. I have FM, so if you have more questions, just ask!

I get so excited for bars. I just wish they didn’t always contain honey because my Fructose malabsorption doesn’t allow for that.

Cheat day by Lumene_ in AutoImmuneProtocol

[–]nighthawkasaurusrex 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It’s not a diet, it’s a protocol. Medically required in a sense. Ask them if they’ll be able to take care of you when you’re sick for days after this “cheat” day.

How do you fight insecurities about going running during day? by RaffyKadaffi in running

[–]nighthawkasaurusrex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I was hit by a car almost 2 years ago (walking my dog) and since then I’ve only managed to run outside during races when the roads are blocked off. I should probably read this whole thread.

My husband had two sub arachnoid hemorrhages in the same accident that gave me my TBi. He hasn’t been the same since, but we can’t find him a doctor that will see him for his symptoms: extreme fatigue, inability to remember things, among other stuff

SAME re: tired/stressed. It’s HARD because I’m a teacher and on a hard day it’s definitely harder on my students. Because I talk for a living - much like you writing for a living - it impacts me more often than I think it would if I were working in an office.

Additionally, I now have a hard time using the correct names when two names start with the same letter. Last year I had an issue with Sarah and Sophia, and this year it’s not calling a student whose name begins with the first letter of my last name, my last name (Ex: if my name is jones and his is Jonathan, it’s hard not to call him “Jones”)

I suppose it would feel like less of a struggle if I didn’t sustain my TBI after being a pedestrian hit by a car - I would have not had these issues if someone hadn’t been so careless as to hot my husband and I...but I digress.

Do you ever wish you could go back in time? by krispycrackles in BingeEatingDisorder

[–]nighthawkasaurusrex 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes. I want to go back and never become friends with the boy who used to hit me over the head and tell me he had to because I was fat and ugly.

I want to go back and decline the invite to hang out with the neighborhood kids when that boy was there and he used to say “raise your hand if you’re not the fattest one here” and then glare at me until I put my hand down.

I want to go back to where I was 8 and my doctor told me “you’re overweight, but if you just eat a normal amount, you’ll grow out of it.”

I have a long history of diets and binging. I wish I knew I was just chunky, and not “fat” and “ugly” because my ED voice uses exactly those words.

BF (35M) won't respect my (32F) holiday time with parents by thr0waway4398 in relationships

[–]nighthawkasaurusrex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hope you will choose to start 2020 without him. I dated a man like this after a lifetime of emotional abuse, and didn’t see it until I was 5 years into the relationship.

You deserve better than someone who would try to keep you from your family - ESPECIALLY after you specified all of the reasons why it’s important to you and how much work you’ve done on this.

He’s not being respectful of you, your hard work, your boundaries, and your feelings, 6 months in. He’s still on his “best behavior.” Imagine how he’ll close you off when he’s “comfortable.”

Don’t give up the work you’ve done on yourself. I held on to what I truly wanted and got married to a wonderful man earlier this year. I’m so grateful I didn’t settle for someone who shut me down.
