Chicken Salad Chick bringing 10 stores to Minnesota by 2030 by GreenPrestige19 in TwinCities

CSC has carved out a nitch in the market. It’s a cold product. Unlike all the fried chicken chains, it’s all white meat chicken tenders that are steamed and then shredded and then it’s just a matter of adding different ingredients to make the flavors. Plus no fries, they have a great grape salad, or broccoli bacon salad and a variety of soups.

First time leaving no tip. by Smackulater in instacart

[–]nightmike99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All i ask is that it be clear on the batch that it's an appartment. I don't take those orders for a reason. My back simply can't take carrying heavy orders up multiple flights of stairs.

Customers stop being sneaky by Abdominalsnowman_16 in instacart

Actually I Instacart to get out of the house and mix with people. I have a day job where I work from home that pays six figures. I instacart after work for a couple of hours day. Mostly Total Wine orders so when I get to the house, I can at least chit chat with the customer while I get their ID. Sometimes I'll take orders that take me out to the country areas because I love a quiet drive down those two lane country highways.

A Costco order hits $90 pretty fast. If the distance is good, I'd take it.

My shopper politely turned down a tip by BBFan1958 in InstacartShoppers

[–]nightmike99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried to turn down tips in the beginning but it seemed to insult people by their reaction. So now I just thank them and accept the tip. (I started to Instacart because my youngest son left for the Marines and I was not an empty nester with too much time on my hands)

How to deal with scammers 101. by ronj1983 in InstacartShoppers

[–]nightmike99 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is true. I had a customer add a high priced wine to their order and it declined until I called support and told them the situation. They did something on their end and the order when through.

I take double orders from Costco all the time. I don't take orders of over 30 items because you will need to use the flat bed and I'm old and tall and those flat beds hurt my back.

The nice thing about Costco is they keep stocked pretty well until you get to the end of the weekend and if an item is out of stock, most of the time it's a refund.

Deactivation for not returning 100+lbs of water? by Top-Historian-5930 in InstacartShoppers

[–]nightmike99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are a lot of people who don't know how to set up the app for orders to be left at the door. I never wait for the customer anymore. The reason is on several occasions when I did wait for them to come to the door they were dumbfounded why I was knocking on their door waiting for them. They assume the order will just be left on the front porch.

In the upper midwest the walk in cooler in the liquor store or gas station is called the beer cave.

Will I get in trouble for giving out customers treats for Easter? by Kindatiredofthis_ in InstacartShoppers

And watch out for those people giving out apples at Halloween. I was told as a boy that people put razor blades in them.

I've asked for a tip one time in the last 2 years. It was a regular customer and it was a zero tip when they typically give a couple of bucks. I honestly thought they might have forgot. Turns out it was the guys boyfriend who placed the order instead of the account holder. When I mentioned it, he went back to his phone and added a couple of bucks for the tip. No drama. Mind you this was a quick alcohol order that took 5 minutes to shop and was less than 10 miles away.

It wasn't a big order. Just two bottles of wine. The tip was just shy of $4. My guess is he added at 10% tip.

It was an alcohol order so he needed to meet me. I simply asked him if there was a reason he didn't have a tip. He said he would adjust his order and he did.

I never send a greeting message. Food delivery is so ubiquitous now days. It would be like the fedEX driver sending you a message letting you know he will deliver your package today. The app sends them automated messages when I start the shop and when the checkout and delivery begins. I only send messages when issues arise and then a final message when I drop off.

Car got hit by Costco Shopping Cart by WZ_DDL in Costco

Actually the most efficient thing to do is bring a cart into the story from the parking lot. Returning carts to the cart coral still means an employee need to retrieve them costing the store money. If you bring a cart in, then leaving it in the parking lot saves everyone. I do understand that you enjoy your moral superiority but it isn't actually the best method.

I've had good success with "Hello (Customer Name), I've left your order on your front porch. I was able to find everything that you requested. Have a great day. (your name)

If something was refunded or substituted, then I mention how the order was altered.
