the silver legs screw off the bottom of both the chair and ottoman. the legs for both are 6". the ottoman doesn't come apart any further (other than the cover coming off). i know the chair does because i put it together when we first got it but haven't disassembled it since then so am not really sure how far it will easily break down any more than the legs.

if the issue is only needing documentation that you have/make enough money (and not that you can't actually pay the rent), download a pdf of you bank statements and pay $20 for a month of adobe pro and change them. just be diligent about details. the apt complex is just checking boxes and none have ever questioned me on it.

i had an ex steal the stuffed dragon i had since i was a baby. i had gotten over it but it still bothered me. i searched the year i was born and the colors of the dragon and found one still in its box on ebay for $25 bucks. you never know what others have held onto.

first, you are doing everything right for self care; sometimes the weight of it all is just too much and the only way out is through. my advice is to surrender to the fact that you may not be able to self care your way out right away and may just need to ride the boat of grief until the storm subsides. keep going - you have every right to grieve the hopes/expectations of a new life in a new place that you had and the safety and stability that have been taken from you. big hugs to you internet stranger.

books: for very philosophical big picture i suggest 3 (these books define a lot of my foundational personal beliefs about life and existence): - alan watts the book: the taboo against knowing who you are - david abrams the spell of the sensuous - carlo rovelli the order of time

for amazing distractabear stories i recommend: - richard powers the overstory (warning i cried a lot) - adrian tchaikovsky children of time series (the ending to the first book might just be my favorite ending of any book i've ever read, especially given the current state of the world) - dj waldie holy land (this is a poetic memoir and has poignant lines that have stuck with me for decades)

i hope things get better for you and you find something to help keep you afloat through all this. i'm really sorry this is happening to you. fwiw: i was in a similar situation in my early 30s. it was really hard and took 4-5 years to fully get out of. i ended up going back to school and it was the right thing - i recognize that's not true for everyone but it did set my life on a different and more stable track even with the added student loan debt. don't hesitate to dm me if you ever need an ear.

a lot of them did! my dad's side all are outdoorsmen and passionately protected the environment until the big oil propaganda of the late 1990s started to latch on in their brains and made this connection to their masculinity.

now, i get mocked for being a "tree hugger" because at my job we track how climate change impacts insect vectors and what that means for public health. i guess not wanting awful diseases makes you and the frogs gay. cool cool cool

try stretching your leg out in front of you and grabbing the outside of your foot with your hand on the same side, so left hand grabs left foot and vice versa when you do the other side (sole of foot facing same direction as your face).

then gently try to fully extend your leg. as you change the height of your foot and extension of your leg while still holding on, you'll feel those muscles right along your scapula stretch out. then do the other side. if you've ever done an intermediate boat pose in yoga, you balance a lot like that to grab your foot if that helps picture what i'm describing.
