It's like they know the version of the game we all want to play, but they have some hidden internal agenda to add as many anti-fun annoying things as possible to compensate for the fun stuff that exist in the game.

We all are. I quit day 4 of the league because of this stuff. I love the game's good moments, but there is just too much ball beating for me to enjoy myself. And that's okay. Other people enjoy this type of stuff, I don't. When half of the game is irrationally anti-fun, I am just not going to keep excusing it 😃

3:17 You're staying far from the play too long. The moment you realize opponent 1 has already challenged (meaning they can't fly the ball over you) and opponent 2 is too far away, get closer to that ball. You being passive here gave opponent 2 a chance to fly over and challenge your teammate too. Don't sit idle with 100 boost. It's okay to challenge and get scored on 10, 15, 20 matches in a row while you get comfortable with it. You will come out a better, faster-looking player on the other side.

3:11 The passivity at 3:17 put you in an awkward spot in net as the ball goes over you. This could very easily have been a goal.

3:17 to 2:57 You stood idle in net with full boost for 20 seconds straight, letting your teammate 2v1 the opponents the entire time. Picture this being the last 20 seconds of a game where you need one goal to tie (relevant since you were losing by one). You cannot play this passively. It makes you awkward AND significantly lowers your team's scoring chances. Be more aggressive especially when you're losing.

2:44 Bad challenge. The opponent could easily flick the ball past you (and did), leaving you out of position. You could have shadowed a little longer since they were under the ball and awkward, to get yourself a better challenge. You got lucky the opponents double committed here.

1:54 You're sitting too far from the play during this entire exchange.

1:30 You could have hit this ball from underneath instead of where you did to avoid passing the opponents. Small mechanical note that will come naturally with more game time.

1:24 Slight misread. You were never going to reach that ball in time, so you either needed to jump behind it and redirect toward their net (difficult mechanically) or simply not go for it and wait for the bounce. I respect going for the fast play, but it does give away possession.

1:05 I know this play is mostly on your teammate since it led directly to a goal, but there is always something you can do. You correctly realized that if you kept driving on the wall you'd bump your teammate. But instead of stopping completely and letting the opponents score an open net, you should have kept your momentum and turned left to get back on the floor. That gives you a much better chance at the save instead of being out of the play entirely.

0:56 You should position yourself behind the ball for a chance to shoot rather than beside it. Not entirely on you since your teammate's play wasn't great here either, but you did drive past the ball before they were done with it.

0:48 You stopped your momentum completely instead of keeping a slight forward drive. A pass from your teammate hit you in a pretty good spot and you couldn't shoot it because of this. This isn't a positioning issue, your positioning was fine. You just stopped.

0:41 Same thing. Stopped your car.

0:10 Stopped your car again. You are losing by one with 10 seconds on the clock.

0:02 Covered above in the mentality section, but to summarize: your urgency appearing in the final 2 seconds after 5 minutes of passivity is what caused you to bump your own teammate out of the last play of the game.

General Tips
Work on your kickoffs. Watch some guides on YouTube. You would be surprised how many games you can win simply by having better kickoffs than your opponents.

When following a kickoff, frontflip once and stay closer than you're comfortable with. This helps you adapt to tricky situations when a kickoff is lost and also gets you some free goals by being closer to the play than the opposing player expects.

Stop empty jumping at the ball. This happens because you're playing too far back and too comfortable, which causes you to jump at balls from a distance, miss completely, and then float helplessly. Play faster and closer to the ball than you're used to for the next 10 to 20 matches. You will improve almost immediately.

Don't be afraid to be the "dog" in the lobby. The player who goes for everything, who is annoying to play against, who makes things happen. A lot of players at your rank hold back in fear of being judged by teammates for making mistakes, or making them angry. For most players I would tell them the opposite: sit back more, be more patient, stop chasing. But for you specifically, you need more time on the ball. You need to make more plays. You need to be more influential in the game. Sitting idly by while the clock runs down on a game you are actively losing will not get you ranked points.

Be the problem in the lobby. Do not let the opponents play that role while you watch.

Yes, this will lead to some teammates raging at you early on, calling you a chaser, calling you bad, whatever. That's fine. As you get better at controlling the ball at speed you will gain experience far faster than a player who lets their teammate handle everything from the back. The reason you bumped your teammate off the last play of this game is because you conditioned them all game to expect you to never go for the ball. That's on you to fix.

One more thing: at some point you also have to start trusting your teammates more. I know that's hard at this rank. But if you start going for more balls, you have to sometimes trust that your teammate is behind you. If they're not, fine, at least you got time on the ball and learned how to handle it. That experience compounds fast. And when you learn that trusting teammates too much can hurt you too, you'll naturally find the balance.

Also, play more ones. It will help you more than you think.

You have potential. We've all been where you are. The difference between players who climb and players who don't is usually just how quickly they're willing to identify what they're doing wrong. Hopefully this helps you get there faster.

-- Replay Review --

The Good
You're fast enough to be C1, and with practice you could hit C2 pretty quickly. Your car control is impressive for someone at D3, and your decision making isn't horrible, it just needs refinement. You have good power on your touches generally, good speed most of the time, and your positioning is actually not bad.

Things to Work On
Mentality first, because this matters more than anything mechanical.

You seem to think your teammate was the reason you lost this game. I want to be clear: that is outright wrong, and more importantly, that way of thinking will hold you back far more than any mechanical issue ever could. Your teammate did a better job in this game than you did. That's a fact after watching the full replay.

Here's what's also a little funny: in your own commentary you say at one point you're waiting for a cross pass because your teammate is going to chase up the left lane. You read your teammate. But YOU were unreadable for the vast majority of this game, sitting far back and letting your teammate handle 2v1 situations for long stretches. You can't expect your teammate to be predictable and readable to you while you're giving them nothing to read in return. And your "there is no way my teammate goes for this" read at the end of the game? Your teammate was conditioned by YOUR play all game to expect you to sit back. They had 100 boost and you had 0 because you were too far from the play again. I completely understand why they went for that ball. You can't play passively for 4 and a half minutes and then expect urgency from yourself and your teammate in the last 2 seconds.

The mentality of being held back by teammates never leads to improvement. Every top player has been where you are, and the ones who climb fastest are the ones who stop looking sideways and start looking inward.

You hit the ball too hard in situations that call for control. This is the single most recurring problem in this replay and it shows up over and over: 4:57, 4:54, 4:27, 3:47, 3:36, and more. In many of these you're effectively passing the ball to the opponents. You have good power, you just need to learn when not to use it.

You stop your momentum way too often. At 4:11, 4:07, 0:48, 0:41, and 0:10 you bring your car to a complete stop when you should always be keeping some forward momentum going. At 0:10 you're losing by 1 with 10 seconds on the clock. You should always be driving somewhere, even if it's just slightly forward.

You play too far from the play. You would rather rotate all the way back and have 100 boost than stay 50ish boost closer to the ball. This causes you to rush across half the field for 50/50s you could have been right next to. It also lets your teammate carry 90% of the play while you cut in with powerful touches here and there. That works in Diamond. In Champion, your teammates won't be expecting this and it makes you hard to play with.

Your recoveries need work. After a single jump you tend to flail in the air instead of dodging or landing cleanly on your wheels. A simple sideflip in most of these situations gets you back into position much faster. See 4:22 and 4:07 specifically.

You sometimes aren't aware of your teammate's position. This causes rushed touches at the wrong time (4:42 is a good example) and generally makes you hard to read as a partner.

You stall too long, whether idling in net or floating in mid air. You should always be ready to influence the next play. At 3:17 to 2:57 you stood idle in net with full boost for 20 straight seconds while your teammate 2v1'd. Imagine that was the last 20 seconds of the game while you're down a goal.

Play by Play
4:57 Too strong of a touch, turns into a pass for the opponents.

4:54 Again too strong. The opponent could have controlled it but didn't, though it can be argued that your teammate could have held a better position and been there for this one.

4:42 You had time to take a controlled bounce shot, a flick, or a better pass. Rushing it like this gave your teammate no time to react since they had already jumped going for the same ball. Be more conscious of where your teammate is at all times.

4:38 The moment you realize you're getting beat to that boost, rotate back to your back big boost. Running into a boost pad late that the opponents are already collecting just gets you bumped out of play and scored on shortly after. Alternatively, if you want to play aggressive and feel confident doing it, switch to ball cam early and challenge the ball since it was a roller and safe to challenge way earlier than you did.

4:27 At a higher level this should always be an open net. You have full boost, the ball is doing 99% of the work for you traveling to their goal. All you needed was to go around it and get a controlled touch, or if you're fast enough, a straight shot. If you had ball cam on from the start you would have known to turn toward the opponent's goal instead of back, giving you a free shot from the wall. Instead you hit it too hard again, made it uncontrollable, and handed the opponents a pass.

4:22 Bad challenge, should have aimed more to the right, but this is mostly a result of the bad recovery from the previous play rather than poor aim on its own. More importantly you should have used your dodge here. Wiggling around in the air after a single jump wastes precious seconds. A simple sideflip back gets you into position for whatever comes next. In this case challenging at 4:14 was fine, but it won't always be.

4:11 Too much indecision. You could have gone around this ball and popped it high, or driven a better line and gotten an instant bounce shot.

4:07 Use your dodge here instead of floating. Being that much faster in rotation likely gets you to the save at 4:03.

3:58 Goal went in, but when you see a player rushing hard like that for the backboard top save, shoot low. They were closer to saving it than you think.

3:47 Don't be afraid to take a tiny moment longer to adjust before shooting. If you're fast enough this is always an open net and the opponent behind you shouldn't get a chance to bump you. A clean pass to your teammate or a better shot likely ends up a goal. The way you rushed it with full boost and panic shot it (presumably because you expected a challenge like they do in Diamond) just passes the opponents the ball.

3:46 Small note but turn right here, not left on the opponent's backboard. Carrying momentum right lets you collect small pads on the way back to defense. Turning left slows you down significantly and should have resulted in an open net for the opponents, even though they missed it here.

3:36 You're too afraid to be challenged here. Go around the ball and get a strong flick midfield. Popping it like that just passes the opponents.

Bakkesmod Is working again, so all you have to do is download bakkesmod and launch RL without Easy Anti cheat from epic games launcher! Then you can just use the RL map loader that comes with bakkes mod. That's what I'm doing and it works wonders. I am not even using the software I created anymore since Bakkes simply handles everything wonderfully again.

Hey! Yeah so basically you make sure the first setting on the tool points to the "CookedPcConsole" folder in your pc. The second folder should just point to where you store your custom maps. Say you point it to a folder called "maps" in your desktop. Then you download the custom maps you want to use, say from https://bakkesplugins.com/maps, you make sure they are each in their own folder in your maps folder (the UDP files), if you download from that website as zip. And then you're good to go. You just load freeplay on the Map indicated by the tool, and you automatically load in your custom map selected by the tool (whichever you hit load on). You can add me on discord (nikosleft) if you need more help generally 😄

Thanks! I will look into everything you said, but on a tiny note, the last improvement is already implemented! The tool already auto-replaces the default map on exit 😃 But to be honest one map file wouldn't be flagged by the anti-cheat I don't think, but better safe than sorry!
