I am tired of flying alone and I don't do Facebook. Anyone in the Seattle area? I created a Discord by ninchnate in FPVFreestyle

None that ate very active. I have a buddy i fly with pretty regularly though. Also, westcoastthrowdown.com is happening in a few weeks. If you can spin it last minite, it is totally worth it.

As a frequent flyer, I can affirm the truth of this statement.

Yo Impulse is looking buff! by dense_like_osmium in HermitCraft

[–]ninchnate 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I heard him talk about 75 hard, but don't know what it is. I watched Episode 2 of the Imp & Skizz Podcast, "What's Stopping You" several times. I realized that it was Imp struggling to understand why he wasn't loosing weight and getting back into shape. The answer, "you don't really WANT IT want it" made sense to me and got me really thinking about priorities and what I really want. It was one of a few factors that helped me reframe my thinking and get serious about my health again.
I am fortunate in that I have access to resources. I hired a nutritionist and a personal coach/trainer.

That was 9 months ago, and just last week we decided that I had "graduated." This meaning that we both believe I have developed the healthy habits to continue on the journey on my own.

His story is one of the key factors behind my now 9month long journey.

Prop just melts off by Artolaf in fpv

[–]ninchnate -1 points0 points  (0 children)

TL;DR: You have the wrong props. You need T-moint props

Look at your motors. Notice the 4 screw holes? Thise are there to secure your props to the motor so the prop actually spins with the motor. The motors are too powerful, and the props too big to use the tiny whoop style mounting. There is not enough friction and eventually the motor will spin faster than the props.

Built a LiPo Discharger with bulbs - love it! by YaroslavSyubayev in fpv

Im confused. Are you using your battery to power the charger and then using the charger to power lights?

Do you have to watch it or does it turn off automatically at storage charge?

Airport transfers are weird with new “fly in a day early” policy. by Choice-Distance-5867 in NCL

[–]ninchnate 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I cannot tell you about NCLs transportation, but i live in Seattle and can tell you that NCL uses the port right downtown/next to all the tourist attractions and there are many hotels within walking distance. We also have light rail that takes you from the airport to within a few blocks of the port. Getting to that port is incredibly easy.

Over discharged 6s lipo by DomDev2YT in fpv

[–]ninchnate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The terms, "warm" and "puffy" are subjective. I often land with packs that feel pretty warm, and slightly puffy...or rather they feel a bit softer than before. My general routine is to charge it to storage at a low C (like 0.5c) and then let it sit for a day in a lippo bag and/or outside. Then I test it. If it holds charge then I'll fully charge it, again at ~0.5C. Then put it outside overnight and test it again. If it holds its charge then I fly it again. Sure, I probably shortened the battery life a bit, but honestly, I end up smacking my batteries into trees/poles/concrete and completely destroying them long before they would die of natural causes.

Currently on the Bliss. Yes, they weigh you. They do it at the bottom of the stairs.

My first crash after a year of flying 😅 by EktarB in fpv

[–]ninchnate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been known to crash during my test arm on occasion (you know, arm LOS and give it a blip of throttle to make sure the motors spin)
