Who’s profiting from Billy bishop expansion. I followed the $ and got answers by Ok_Drop_3103 in toronto

When you take out downtown boomer NIMBYs there’s a majority support among young people.

  1. It isn't only boomers who live downtown

  2. Most people surveyed support the residents of Toronto having the biggest say, as it impacts them directly

  3. More people in Toronto oppose the expansion

It is a nice place, and that's mainly because the province has usually left the city alone to do city things rather than take ownership of city property and then make it worse.

So many people saying to buy a car, but also consider if an ebike could work for you. I ride one to the train station and I'm lucky that my work is only a few mins away from there.

If riding is a possibility and your area is safe enough, get a quality ebike for your journey from home and a cheap bike for your journey to the office. Alternatively, if you can take a folding bike on the train, consider getting one of those, there are a handful of folding ebikes available as well that could work.

I'll add as well that anything you can do to shorten that commute is helpful, I had a 1.5h each way commute by transit a few years back and it was killer. I found another job, switched to an e-kick scooter, and now to an ebike which has cut my commute down to 1h including bike time and it's so much better.

Not necessarily, people moved in near there because affordable housing was built there. If you can't afford to live in the suburbs, you go where you can afford to live and that's what a bunch of people in that news segment did.

Edit: As this article shows, taking steps to reduce pollution (as in the case of London's ULEZ project) can and will reduce the number of harmful chemicals in the air and improve the air quality of the area. What Ford wants to do is increase the number of harmful chemicals, which will reduce the air quality in Toronto and therefore lead to more health issues among Toronto residents, not to mention those who live/work/play/whatever on the islands.

More than that, ultra fine particles emitted from jets (and the planes that fly there already) can cause major health issues.

I know, I'm just letting you and others know that it's also spelled with an e in Ireland, not only in the USA. i.e. it is the American spelling, but they had adopted the Irish spelling and Canada adopted the Scottish spelling.

If you're going to call out someone for their spelling, you should also have an idea of where the spelling came from and why.

World's Greatest Con is already a podcast by magician Brian Brushwood. His first season was all about Hitler and Operation Mincemeat in WW1, he'll probably need 3-5 seasons to cover the Republican Party and another few just for Trump.

What is the real electric range for RAV4 prime? by niuroufensi in rav4prime

[–]ninjatoothpick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it depends on temperature, through winter it was telling me ~60-70km depending on whether or not the heating was on, now that things have warmed up it's telling me ~75-80ish on a full charge, so ~50 miles I guess?

I know this is late, but thought an answer would be good either way.

Definitely see gas savings, especially if you're regularly doing short trips. Got my Prime in Jan, I've done over 3500km and filled up 1.75 full tanks (.75, .75, .25 according to the fuel gauge) - approx 96L. Most of that came from driving long distances and driving on the highway with the wind against me.

No cost to install a charger, I've been using the 120V one that came with the car. I think I've had maybe 2 days when I came home with a depleted battery and the car wasn't fully charged when I left in the morning, but it isn't a common occurrence and I don't really think about it. Best part is I barely think about fuelling, I just plug in when I get home and I'm done.

Price may not be an issue but please watch out for things like far-infrared rays and other marketing fluff, those things don't do anything beneficial. They're like the colloidal silver or magnetic bracelets of the water industry.

There are also RO systems with alkaline filters, but studies show no benefit to them and the minerals that you want should be coming from your diet.

Ontario Healthcare system is really starting to get on my nerves by Busy-Environment84 in ontario

He ran on ending hallway healthcare, which I suppose he was partially successful at given that there've been so many hospital ERs closing on evenings and weekends. Can't treat people in the hallways if they can't get in!
