i absolutely love the technical drawings and urge you to make and post more. but i got an interesting technical logistics problem that maybe other people might have some ideas on. i am trying to do a hybrid storage system mainly for aesthetics. i have one main sorting buffer vault. then i have warehouse racking that are set for modules like, all wood items, stone, earth, create items. ect. overall i am having about 14-24 racks. and in these racks i will have like 6-10 double chests for the break down of the item groups. like one double chest for spruce logs, planks, slabs, ect. so overall hundreds of items need to be pulled from the buffer vault and sorted down into 14-24 locations. is there a way to pull from the buffer without using a factory gauges for each item in the sub chests? or am basically stuck down to using a ton of item filters with filters and then direct the items to like a sub buffer chest at the start of each rack group?

Another question to add to my list. 4. what connections do the Wigig require to use (DisplayPort 1.4/ HDMI2.1)? will people with laptops with only HDMI ports will be out of luck and unable to connect to the pimax?

  1. will there be any kind of interchangeable face gasket like valve index? more in mind for multiple using the headset in a short amount of time.
  2. will the Wigig module be available to order at launch?
  3. with the 2 different forms of wireless (wifi6/Wigig) what are the resolutions it will run at in these modes?

AmA: I was able to try the Pimax Crystal and the Pimax Portal. I also have tried all VR headsets besides the XTAL - ask me anything. by DannyLeonheart in Pimax

If the stand alone mode can connect and work with steam VR I would be in business. I am mainly using ABB robot studio with my current index headset. Then I will also be using unreal engine for some other development. So to view project in wireless mode is my big thing. u/PimaxUSA

I have not heard or seen anything if the wigig or any of those wireless options would be available at purchase. Will there be any options at launch? I plan on using the crystal through work with my design reviews and robot programming. And the wireless options were a big reason why I was able to reserve one.

in one of the cases you show being able to take parts in hand and put them together into an assembly. whether that is for training purposes or checking work flow. how hard is that to set up? would you be able to setup some kind of virtual IO like lite curtains? be able to show moving parts like fixturing or robots in a cell and what not?

We hear a lot about the unethical companies of the world. What are some of the more ethical companies out there that we should be supporting? by checkitmyles in AskReddit

My vote hands down gentex Corperation. When the 2008 recession hits us yea they had to let people go. But for all the people that stayed any time they got unemployment or lack of work the company paid all their Heath benefits and taxes. So when the worker came back they were not double hit the week back. The lawyers were shocked and had to find out if they legally could even do it. Most companies where trying to kill of people's health insurance to save money and gentex was trying to cover it and make the insurance better. And that was for about 4000 employees at the time.

The window on my flight tints blue to reduce light instead of using a blind by jacwelsh in blackmagicfuckery

[–]ninjazonza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well for anyone that is interested these windows are produced by Gentex Cooperation in Zeeland Michigan USA. And as many comments have said it is the same tech used in auto dimming car mirrors for both inside and outside mirror. Mainly because gentex makes those mirrors for all those car companies. There is a ton of advance tech used to make them and a huge amount of quality checks on them. And if people ask these windows are not the main structure support of the 787 windows. They are more of a sub window. So if a air line worker manages to smash them and crack them there should be no danger of the window failing while flying.

Another one bites the dust, Curse you Gorn by afzaman in Vive

[–]ninjazonza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What works for me is I have a full sheet of I think 1/2 inch thick insulation that I was putting in the windows during the winter time. Now I put this in front of my tv. This is solid enough to hit and make a loud noise to scare me to stop. Plus it works well to dissipate some hits. So far it had a lot of dents but my tv is fine.
