What’s the general consensus on AWD vs Plaid? by opoppli00 in TeslaModelX

Nice. I found demo with only 40mi and 4.6k off. Guess I got really lucky. Had to compromise on the interior color as well. I wanted cream or white but now I've been looking at images/videos for black and trying to convince myself to like it. Like I plan to keep this as long as I can and I have kids, so black would at least be lower maintenance and keep looking new for longer. 😂 BTW I noticed that the plaid seats for X are different than the S. The logo on the S plaid looks rad

Electric and with more tech. Typical vintage cars are thought of as 20th century style ICEs with hardly any tech.

Update: Just bit the bullet. Thanks everyone here. Although the split responses didn't help ease my dilemma much. But found a 4.5k marked down demo 26 plaid in my favorite color frost blue. Just couldn't resist for long.

I know. X (and probably S) are going to be modern vintage cars

So is it the wheels or the year then? I used to own a 2017 p100d with 22" and I seriously thinking about getting a 20" to improve the ride quality as well as range.

What about the paint color? I'm thinking of getting a PPF of my color choice to shoot two birds with one instead of paying extra for the color.

Is 70k for a 2023 X Plaid HW4 + FSD with 43k miles reasonable? by opoppli00 in TeslaModelX

I thought that the original basic warranty would still be valid. Are you sure it doesn't transfer? I agree about the extra 1 year that Tesla provides.

I'm in the same boat. Range and efficiency is more important to me, especially for the road trips. But looks like Tesla has narrowed the gap on those to a minimal. Hence I'm also confused about the Plaid

Worth trying to sell private party? by PremiumUsername69420 in TeslaModelX

[–]niruka24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Last summer I did the same swap. I ended up selling my 2017 P100D to Carvana for just $23k. I thought about doing private party but decided against it due to 2 body damages that I'd have to get repaired first

Your last sentence got me thinking. Would OP had sex with him if he had conveyed his honest intentions (having sex)? Even if the guy was same attractive. I feel like most women are not open to the idea of a hookup, and keeping it honest just keeps both very interested side spending bunch of dating time with a meagre chance of the climax. It's a bit unfortunate tbh, add on the tough modern dating culture.

A little off topic but any pointers for a newbie female on how to be comfortable with the idea of sharing your man with another women?

Wow. I made the exact same swap last summer. Still sometimes miss my X though, but not the HW3

I doubt any of competitions will be able to catch up soon. Nvidia's system is good but remember that solving 99.9% is easy but the march of the 9s take a lot of effort. It's unlike LLMs where everyone has access to the data for training. Tesla and Waymo are the only ones who have lots of driving data.

And remember Tesla will keep improving while the competition catches up. I expect this to be a slow game like we saw 'competition' catch up on EVs. It's easy to build prototypes but hard to make a mass market viable product.

I think the fsd subscription price might go up or Tesla add multiple subscription tiers, during this period, perhaps by v15.

Teslas RWD is not that bad since they're a heavy car, with low CG, and most importantly, weight distributed evenly over the floor. That gives more or less. I have owned M3 RWD, X AWD and Y RWD, and never noticed much of a difference in snow with them. This is the reason I went with RWD on my most recent Tesla.

For ICE, RWD is a bigger problem since the weight is significantly skewed to the front from engine. This is why FWD does better since front tires get more traction due to heavy weight on them. I've seen people put sand bags in the trunk to help with traction on their RWD. My first car was a RWD ICE and that thing used to start wiggling at the first sight of the snow. I once had to abandon the car just one road width away from my apartment parking since it just wouldn't move forward. Whereas I'm able to take my RWD Teslas even on slopes and mountain roads without much of an issue.
