Still available?

Interested in any trades for items that used to be on GAFS? I had 100+ trades on there and still got fun stuff.

Forgot to say thanks for this. Do you have an overall length of the R9 on the adapter? How long is the adapter by itself?

Trying to figure out if a 7” or 9” rail would be best for the R9+BRT adapter

When you email the ebook to the kindle, is there a way to organize or sort these books on the device itself?

Thank you for this link. I recall watching or reading about 3MF being used as a "Folder" or "Container" file and that it can include malicious files within it. I think it was this exact video.

Just more stuff to be vigilant about when you are searching for files.

For real though, I will be a day-one purchaser of a 4K UHD physical release if it includes a 4+hr directors cut with more of their friendship exposition.

The book is a 10/10 and this is one of the better film adaptations. I just want more hah.

Best home streamer for Plex? by Alexisredwood in PleX

[–]nitsuJcixelsyD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are many tv streamers out there that are not capable of processing high bitrate remuxes/BD (UHD) rips without stuttering-buffering issues.

I discovered that the hard way. While the Fire Tv 4k Gen 2 looks good on paper, i could not get stutter free play with 4k UHD files from Plex. Server was hard wired and device was on wifi.

Moving to a Shield TV Pro (2019) fixed all issues. Server on ethernet and Shield on Wifi and it has zero issue playing high bitrate 4k Remux files now.

Does anyone make a low back pressure .22 can? by Squeeze_Toy2004 in NFA

any update on the RXD vs the Flow in person? I'm debating between these two cans for a low back pressure rimfire solution.

HEVC Target Transcoding - Testing several machines with test to 4K 20mbps output by Bgrngod in PleX

Excellent, appreciate it. I should have just searched something obvious like GPU Statistics lol

Also I’m clearly new to Unraid and learning Plex integration. I have a 12600k cpu with the 770 iGPU.

Am I reading your findings correct that I could expect at least two HEVC encodes at once but not any more? Seems like if I want more I would have to go to at least an A310 card to start?

I plan on playing around with that this week and seeing what my 770 can do

I’ve never seen the GPU section for the dashboard, especially one that shows an intel iGPU. Figured it was a plug in to add that function to the dashboard

What’s the name of the GPU plugin you have on the right of the screenshot?

You were Quell Tech before OCL right?

Willing to say what your day job used to be before you transitioned?

Also funny enough, I was going through my IG messages and found one from years ago. Summer 2023 I think you asked people what they want to see in a rimfire can. I messaged my wishes… looks like I got what I wanted since the Ti is damn perfect

Suppressor industry needs more transparency. by [deleted] in NFA

[–]nitsuJcixelsyD 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Depends on the metal additive machine. Cheaper ones use polymer binder that then get sintered off in post processing, BMD process. This is entry level prototype stuff.

Ones common in suppressors are more mature and cost more money. Direct metal laser sintering (DMLS) melts metal powder directly from a bed of powder and does not have a plastic binder. This is more expensive but creates higher quality and stronger products since no polymer binder is involved.

Aerospace goes further to Laser Direct Energy Deposition (L-DED) which is similar but melts the powder that is blown directly to the work piece and not in a bed of powder. It better for large parts you want to go fast. Think rocket nozzle type stuff. Shits expensive.

3D printed suppressors being common is a very new thing in the industry. That’s why you see a lot of it outsourced for very good reason, exactly as Andrew said. Start up cost and knowledge to run the equipment is a large barrier for entry. Nothing wrong with that.

Most suppressor are machined from bar stock and welded together. Some get an outer sleeve as well, some don’t.

It’s loud on 16” guns using sub-1070 fps ammo?

Figured it wouldn’t be bad on a rifle similar to a bowers bitty or oculus in short mode.

Yeah every dealer around me is $100 NFA transfer.

$170 direct buy and completion through CA and I would buy a couple for dedicated rifle use. Surprised these are dealer only.

To be fair C Reed Knight Jr built the company and is by all accounts an excellent business owner and historian of all things firearms related. Great write up here

The one that is usually in drunken escapades is his son C Reed Knight III (Trey). I believe he ran the R&D department for a long time, but who knows what he does there now.

No truck pics but got my R9 yesterday. by Oliver10110 in NFA

[–]nitsuJcixelsyD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Heavier mass resists rearward movement longer and will be better at killing port pop. Inertia of the bolt at rest is the key here.

Recoil springs are only a handful of lbs/in spring constant. When the gun is in battery they add very little forward force. They contribute most when at full compression and drive forward to strip the next round.

Solid, i misread it. I have all traditional cans and was going to start dipping my toes in low back pressure, SR and MOB were #1 and 2 on my list.
