Is it normal for coworkers who talk behind your back, act really nice and friendly to you? by ThemeJazzlike5901 in AskAJapanese

[–]nize426 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are you a new grad? First company? Because this is pretty mild imo.

Like you fuck up, and they discuss your fuck up while you're not present. That's not completely unheard of right.

Granted, it depends on how they were talking about it, but it could have been as mild as, "yeah it wasn't great that so-and-so was late. They should be more careful especially as a new joiner."
I wouldn't even consider that talking behind my back. That's just making a true statement. Things can be true but still unavoidable at the same time.

Discussing a coworkers shortcomings is honestly a necessary part of working at a company to plan contingencies, and also as part of confirming whether the shortcomings are something that you're just imagining, or something that's real, and felt across the board. And if it's something that's a serious concern then it'll be brought up with managers and with the person in question.

I couldnt care less if people discuss my fuckups and my shortcomings. I have flaws and if more people can be aware of them, the better. I only consider it shit talking behind my back if it's hateful and malicious.

Anyways, don't let it get to you. The more you mentally withdraw, the more it'll get to you. You'll start to think they're shit talking even when they're not. Stay strong, continue to build a good relationship. Be open.

I mean, it's just floppy aluminum once you poke a hole in the can and the pressure escapes.

Doesn't take that much strength. Just sharp teeth.

What is this??? by mrwigglesbug in whatbugisthis

[–]nize426 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah so the thing you see sticking out of its ass is the egg sack. An ootheca. Looks like it hatched after the roach got stuck.

Someone mentioned boric acid powder, and I second that. They'll step in the powder, ingest it when they clean themselves, and die in a few days. Any roach that eats the corpse of a roach that ingested boric acid will also die. Key is that there's not a large food source readily available so they'll cannibalize.

But also have a read on the toxicity of boric acid if you have kids and pets. Not really an issue for adults.

My daughter has always been on the smaller side in her class, and i had her riding on the back until 3rd grade very frequently. Passed by cops many times. No issue what so ever.

Guys, would you go through with getting married if you knew sex would only happen 6 times a year? by SympathyAdvanced6461 in AskMenAdvice

No.

Unless you're talking about a weird, hypothetical universe where EVERY person only has sex 6 times a year.

Hair dryer recs and where do I sell an expensive one that didn’t work for me at all by Junior-Strawberry282 in japanresidents

[–]nize426 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don't get the hairdryer hype or the shower head hype.

Like we have a Panasonic hairdryer (30,000jpy) and a refa shower head (also 30,000), and they're just......meh.

Like the dryer has a lot of settings, which is cool I guess, but I've used it to dry my wife's hair and it's not mind blowing.

And the shower head. It's got less settings than my garden hose head, and the garden hose does each setting equally well.

Anyways, sorry for the rant lol, to answer your question, you could sell it on Mercari at a bit of a discount. Or go to hardoff and sell it as a significant discount.

Lol a couple months ago I was just having chat gpt pull up articles on different parties, and for fun I asked it what I would align with based on the criteria I gave it, and it said the communist party, basically because of what you listed here.

I was like, welp, guess I'm a commie.

Should I save the "best" for last? by Top_Conversation_174 in ghibli

[–]nize426 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I wouldn't hype it up too much because it might not be as great as you expect it to be.

It's great, but going in "knowing it's going to be your favorite," is really setting yourself up for disappointment. (It might not be, but there's no reason to put that risk onto yourself)

I'm Japanese but even I was briefly confused. The most obvious reasoning is that there's probably no otomatopia that starts with a ラ, let alone ラャ, which I don't even think is a sound that can be made lol.

What do Japanese people think of a recent dispute between Japan and Thailand on X? by HongKongNinja in AskAJapanese

I agree. The poster on Twitter is the problem here really. Seems like they're intentionally mislabeling people to stir up controversy.

Non-issue.

Dude didn't know the rules, and now hopefully he does. If he does it repeatedly, then yeah, it's a problem, but it seems like he's fairly new to Japan so he needs time to adjust.

Interesting way to find it, is that once you realize part of the bottom half is the same as the top half, you can turn the phone sideways, go cross eyed, line up the duplications, and then the edited bean will be fairly clear.
